Thing is that i don't have any fan cooling the drive. It doesn't show up as really hot, its 42C all day every day, but its really hot when i touch it.
I wouldn't worry too much.
i've got a drive from 2004 that runs at around 79C 24/7, you're just fine hon
mine run at 43c-ish because I took the fan out of the front of the case to slap onto the arse end of my 212+ :pcgaming:
mine run at 43c-ish because I took the fan out of the front of the case to slap onto the arse end of my 212+ :pcgaming:
it would probably be more beneficial to have it on the front rather than have a push/pull configuration on your 212+ or just buy a new 120mm fan, they start at like $6
I did it on my 700D, it's really easy. I took the spare drive bay cover, cut the clips of the sides so it was just the front face part. Then I used some 3M industrial strength double-sided "tape" to attach it to the disk tray part, and I stuck a piece of plastic next to where the button is on the CD drive, so I would just push the corner of the bay cover and hey presto a CD drive would pop out: -snip- -snip- It kinda looks a little wonky when retracted on these images but It was just the alignment which I re-did afterwards and you couldn't tell it was there.
You're right :v: I did the same thing in about 10 minutes, with a handsaw and some duct tape.

A few more... [thumb]http://i546.photobucket.com/albums/hh416/kydoes/102_1122.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i546.photobucket.com/albums/hh416/kydoes/102_1118.jpg[/thumb] Quick question, what do I do with a perfectly good WD 320GB Blue. I can't use it do to the beat frequency (the sound is subtle yet unbearable) it makes while running along with my samsung 1tb.
They are very similar, perform very similar too.
Except the Dark Rock PRO is inaudible.
Fucking gorgeous pics.
Why is your Hard drive not mounted properly? It's hanging out and only held in by one screw, are you mad?
Yea. I placed my hard drive up on the top and half way through screwing the screws in I noticed that there aren't enough holes in the stupid case :V
Yea. I placed my hard drive up on the top and half way through screwing the screws in I noticed that there aren't enough holes in the stupid case :V
But there is... you see the slider which you have one screw in right now? There is one infront of it which will let you bolt the HDD in by both of its mounting points.
it would probably be more beneficial to have it on the front rather than have a push/pull configuration on your 212+ or just buy a new 120mm fan, they start at like $6
cpu/gpu temps fell after it being moved, although to be honest I'm not really that bothered about temperatures as long as it isn't at melting point and that it still works having low temperatures is more of an e-peen boost more than anything else
But there is... you see the slider which you have one screw in right now? There is one infront of it which will let you bolt the HDD in by both of its mounting points.
Look closer
[t]http://puu.sh/50OH[/t] :downs:
Well that was a bit mean.
Well that was a bit mean.
Not really, did it really not occur to him that perhaps your hard drive has to be all the way in for the screw hole to be accessible?
Damn the noctuas are freaking hideous. What the fuck is that color scheme.
Damn the noctuas are freaking hideous. What the fuck is that color scheme.
Creame and shit brown. Retro!
Damn the noctuas are freaking hideous. What the fuck is that color scheme.
Airflow & noise is good though even if they are stupidly expensive.
Creame and shit brown. Retro!
I kinda like their color scheme. That or I just don't give a damn about how the innards of my computer looks. Probably both though.
I have no idea why noctua are set on using cream and brown, it matches no colour scheme ever. They just opt for a black on white, just black or just white.
well if it works. but if you are concerned about the look of your rig just fucking run away from noctua men RUN 11
I sent an email to noctua once asking for some freebies and they sent me 2 metal case badges, a sticker sheet and a promotional poster. (For free)
and all that was cream and brown
I have no idea why noctua are set on using cream and brown, it matches no colour scheme ever. They just opt for a black on white, just black or just white.
Because it stands out, and bad publicity is better than no publicity.
I have no idea why noctua are set on using cream and brown, it matches no colour scheme ever. If you hate it so much, just paint the fans.
the noctua colour scheme is to make you say "oh look a noctua fan" and "oh look, somebody else with a noctua fan, maybe I should buy one"
and all that was cream and brown
Picture from 2007 when I got them (See bottom right) Everything had that logo in either cream+brown or chrome+brown. Notice how I don't even have a single noctua product... Or asus for that matter. The stickers are a lie.
Yeah i remember, my old rig looked the same too. Too many stickers but only crap inside I'm happy all the recent cases have a nice black interior, damn, the shitty grey was just atrocious too.
