It looks like your heatsink is blowing up/down. Shouldn't it be rotated 90° so it blows out the back?
probably to exhaust through the PSU fan seeing as there's no back exhaust
It looks like your heatsink is blowing up/down. Shouldn't it be rotated 90° so it blows out the back?
Hot air goes from down to up so its much of a preference really.

Impress friends when they come over and look at your 1337 gaymen peecee, and have non ricer cases when you're all by yourself.

Also the third hard drive in my rig was taken out and thrown in my brother's rig, I cba to open my pc right now and take new ones but I'll take a new one once my second 6870 arrives.
https://plus.google.com/photos/108991907802797807719/albums/5649746421400590881 I manged to make my tiny mATX case's cable management even better, mostly by turning my HDD around, and hiding my CPU power cable behind my PSU. You guys need to try harder in your full-size cases, a lot of your cable management looks pretty bad.

With a bit of inevitable mind-numbing, you too can aspire to join the sheeple one day. If you plan on running Windows natively, EXCHANGE IT FOR A 13" IMMEDIATELY. What Apple doesn't tell you is that they only allow graphics switching in OS X, meaning horrendous battery life in anything but OS X on any of their computers with a dGPU. I cannot possibly overemphasize this. Here's a list of software to help ease the insertion of Apple into your rectum: JustLooking, LibreOffice, MPlayer OSX Extended, OnyX (allows you to tweak a bunch of stuff Apple doesn't give options for), TinkerTool, TextWrangler, Disk Inventory X, Dock Dodger, Right Zoom, gfxCardStatus, and VirtualBox. OS X does provide a good host OS for running VMs in
I was measuring the card for someone and decided to take pictures. This is with my cellphone though, but it's a decent cellphone camera. This system has been pretty much on constantly since I built it in June. So a little dust, but the video cards' heatsinks are spotless. Might be the dust removal tech it does on bootup. Have you considered getting prettier SLI cables / painting them or something?
Have you considered getting prettier SLI cables / painting them or something?
don't think you can paint ribbon cable
Have you considered getting prettier SLI cables / painting them or something?
Not really, But I might if some place sold solid black ones or something.
Not really, But I might if some place sold solid black ones or something.
Oh man, I just realized I had a dream where I found some awesome black ones that were adjustable length for some reason. It's weird that they're so difficult to find, you'd think someone would be out there making them (or that some really cool ones would come with a high end card like a GTX 580, at least match the cards colours!)
Not really, But I might if some place sold solid black ones or something.
I used some black electrical tape to disguise my Crossfire cables, lay the cable onto some thick tape then use a scalpel to cut around the cable, works pretty good.
So... Bulldozer comes out in 18 days. Wonder if the prices for Sandy Bridge will drop? Probably. I'm going to go with a Quad Core Sandy Bridge, simply because I can't afford the newest tech every revision. This is the first time I've rebuilt my PC since 2008. I'm also getting a GTX 560 Ti, so yeah. EDIT: Forgot something. Do motherboards come with a diagram of where the pins for the front panel go? Because, while the front panel connectors are labeled, their counterparts on my motherboard are not. It took a lot of trial and error to get them working. I don't want to do that again.
Asus has q connectors for that, and its always in the manual

Besides, is the top bulldozer chips coming out? the FX8000's or something or just middle range.
I think those are coming in 2012.
Then even less likely SB prices will fall. Atleast 2500/2600 series. If you want the fastest consumer CPU it's going to be a 2500k/2600k/990X. AMD has nothing to offer.
