Snap Dragon
Rrer.
For people rating disagree: But you can't deny, that amd's slot names are simpler. Though intel is not too confusing.
Yea because AM3 cpu in AM2+ socket makes fucking sense
Yea because AM3 cpu in AM2+ socket makes fucking sense
it does make sense though, the + must be there for a reason and it's pretty common knowledge anywho [editline]13th September 2011[/editline]
VIA Make some processors.
good lord I wouldn't let VIA near processors, have you seen their audio drivers?
Yea because AM3 cpu in AM2+ socket makes fucking sense
It makes perfect sense.
It makes perfect sense.
Full functionality except no DDR3.
Here's my lovely machine! :v: [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35477235/what/IMG_2280.JPG[/thumb]
Here's my lovely machine! :v: [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/35477235/what/IMG_2280.JPG[/thumb]
lol your comp has balls.
It makes perfect sense.
Then why not call the fucking cpu AM2+
lol your comp has balls.
you're hilarious [editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
Then why not call the fucking cpu AM2+
Because it isn't one, it just works with the am2+ socket too.
-snip, wrong thread-
Then why not call the fucking cpu AM2+
it's designed for am2 but the + implies it's compatible with something else or is otherwise better than normal am2. It isn't designed for am3 cpu's, it just happens to be compatible with them.
So a little crosstopic with the " post your desk one ". The hardware itself for my first custom build is coming slowly. Mail speed slow as shit in my country :v: . Actual progression : Next step is the CPU. A 2600k is, i think, necessary with all that stuff. So i chose the Maximus IV P67, i don't care about the features of the Z68 ( and i got a nice discount price on the P67 one :v: ). The only issue is the CPU cooler, i don't know what i'm going to take. Maybe some H80 from corsair to stay on the global idea, no hideous Noctua in my color scheme so screw the NH-D14. Oh, and also buyed a huge ass pack of 200 zip ties. Overkill. Hurr.

I've been considering swapping my NH-D14 for one since I haven't been very impressed with the cooling on the NH-D14, especially for the 75 bucks I paid for it.
You think it's gonna nicely fit in the 600T ? If i remember correctly, the H100 is basically a big radiator with 2x 120mm fans no ? Well it sounds funny indeed, but i heard some stories about the H100 being troublesome in the 600T.

The image in your post didn't show, so I didn't know you had a specific case with any issues.
They're both corsair products, I don't imagine why one of their moderately expensive cases wouldn't have enough room for it, there's a 200mm fan on top, I'd imagine there's also space for 2x120 if you remove it?
Actual progression:
Really REALLY good choice with the motherboard, I have the same and its amazing.
 Happy to hear that. Did you used the CPU Levelup! feature, or did you already overclocked on it ? Hows it going ?
I don't recommend using the lvlup feature. It's better if you set it at 4.2 directly in bios. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] UEFI even.
Why you don't recommend lvlup ? It automatically set the best settings for a correct overclocking no ? Well i just read some shit about it, i don't even know how to overclock manually so... :v:
it keeps lvlup until your computer is unstable, then it reverts to the setting where it was stable. I mean, I don't want my computer to run at 4.8 just because it can, I like to do it manually because of the temps and such. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] And wouldn't it be better if you learned Asus UEFI interface so you can easily find stuff later? Instead of letting AI Suite II do the work for you. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] When I say manually, I pretty much mean automatic. You go into UEFI, press a dropdown menu and set it at 4.2. Really simple.
And wouldn't it be better if you learned Asus UEFI interface so you can easily find stuff later? Instead of letting AI Suite II do the work for you.
Sure thing, i'm totally going to do that. But it gonna take some time. And still have to learn alot of thing about hardware and such. By the way i think you can choose a " static pre-designed " 4.6 or 4.2 on the lvlup feature. Thats what i was talking about, a quick static overclocking.
When I say manually, I pretty much mean automatic. You go into UEFI, press a dropdown menu and set it at 4.2. Really simple.
Really ?
I thought you were talking about this? If you're talking about what I'm talking about then we're talking about the same thing! :P. But yea, in UEFI there is a dropdown menu where you can choose 4.2, 4.6 and so on. [editline]14th September 2011[/editline] But I guess you're also talking about this? In that case, I'm sorry for misunderstanding you. I instantly thought about Auto Tuning. Bleh!
Yep, i was talking about this, not the turbo thing, indeed :
http://img1.uploadscreenshot.com/images/orig/9/25615010264-orig.png
Did you used it ?
Damnit! I hate when this happens, oh well. Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about what you should use! And yes, I set mine to 4.2.
So I was talking to my friend about computer cases, because he was thinking of buying a new one, and he says he really liked this:
