So I was talking to my friend about computer cases, because he was thinking of buying a new one, and he says he really liked this:
It only has 1 5.25" bay and it opens really weirdly.
Also, the total price for the computer was about 2500$ :v:
I might be ordering a second 6870 and ram or a new laptop tomorrow/this weekend. All depends on what happens tomorrow since it's my birthday. Still have no idea what kind of laptop I should get though.
Just put togheter a computer for my friend. i7 2600k, 6990, 8GB RAM, H100. Installing Windows on it for him at the moment. And what do you think about my cable management?
It's neat, but it's not pretty. You should be trying to do right angles, and put that cable through the holes. [editline]15th September 2011[/editline] Why isn't the videocard in the top slot? then you could put the videocard power through the holes and it would look nice

[editline]15th September 2011[/editline] Why isn't the videocard in the top slot? then you could put the videocard power through the holes and it would look nice
The videocard cables go behind the motherboard tray, and the CPU power cable was too short to run behind it. That's why it's over everything.
The videocard cables go behind the motherboard tray, and the CPU power cable was too short to run behind it. That's why it's over everything.
run it under the front of the gpu in between the mobo case and gpu, there is just enough room for a 8pin cpu power.
I'd rather not to, since then I would have to remake some zip-ties, and I'd rather not too since I don't have any black left. Besides, my friend won't be looking inside his computer all the time.
Also, the total price for the computer was about 2500$ :v:
How did a computer like that manage to cost that much?
Sweden. [editline]16th September 2011[/editline] http://www.inet.se/kundvagn/visa/874113/expensive for a part list. And the final price was $2654.34 with todays prices and exchange rate.
[editline]16th September 2011[/editline] Did you try the Fuzion thing yet?
Not yet but my friend has this motherboard and it works beautifully with two different GPU chipset manufactures at once. Actually it's the reason why I bought it. But hopefully I can get a ATI card soon to stick in there next to my GeForce GTS.

So, little update on my first mother fucking custom build. I managed to build the computer and install windows in approx. 4 hours. Everything is stable and fine. 1. PUTTING SHIT TOGETHER A.K.A CABLES EVERYWHERE ( one thing : the 600T is a mid-tower case, and E-ATX boards are a bit too big, so the Maximus IV was eating some of the grommets, it fits, but keep that in mind if you're doing something similar ) 2. BIOS BIOS BIOS BIOS BIOS BIOS BIOS WHERE DO I BOOT, WHAT'S AHCI ???, WHY RAID BLUE SCREEN ???, BIOS BIOS BIOS BIOS 3. I THINK IT'S DONE. for the moment. So yeah. It wasn't THAT hard. Just need some serious relaxation. The most boring parts was the fucking power sw and leds shit and the installation of the H80 itself ( one of the tube broke during the installation, hopefully i got my money back, that's why you see the classic intel cooler on the last pics ). By the way, i need help on two points : * My Corsair FORCE GT SSD have a big SATA 3 on his box. But a friend tells me to put the SSD's on SATA 6 ? What do ? * I don't understand how my 3.0 TO hard drive works. I plugged the classic SATA ( 3 ) cables, but on Windows everything is going to shit. I need some special stuff for so much capacity ? Last point : i'm kinda proud of myself :v: . I have not done something incredible, but still.
Did you spill any liquid? Oh and SATA3 = SATA 6GB/s. He's confusing things.
Nope, nothing spilled hopefully. SATA 3 = SATA 6 ? :tinfoil: I miss something i think. The grey SATA ports on the Maximus are for SATA 3, but next to it you have some red ports. What the fuck are they for ? edit : ok, red ports are for SATA 6.0 Gb/s and grey ports for SATA 3.0 Gb/s So my SSD is on the 3.0 Gb/s one.

Red is a marvel controller with additional SATA3 ports. Use the gray ones. SATA6 Doesn't exist (yet). SATA3 = 6GB/s max. Your friend confuses the 3 with 6GB/s and is calling it SATA6 [editline]19th September 2011[/editline] Plug SSD into SATA3. Plug your harddrive/dvd etc. into SATA2 [editline]19th September 2011[/editline] Also expect some content from my new build :D
just one small mistake with that statement
Oops sorry.
Successfully pushed my mother fucking Matrix to 950Mhz stable on aircooling.
Successfully pushed my mother fucking Matrix to 950Mhz stable on aircooling.
Am I missing something? 950mhz doesn't sound like pushing it at all.
Am I missing something? 950mhz doesn't sound like pushing it at all.
Insane overclock.
Am I missing something? 950mhz doesn't sound like pushing it at all.
If it's a Asus MATRIX 580, the default clock is 816 MHz
I'm just saying, for an Asus Matrix ROG I'd expect 950 for most cards.
Well some Matrix cards with some motherboards can't pass 920 at all. Anyway, you can't go over 970 on air cooling without major problems.
Insane overclock
hurrr.
I sooo want to go to this. http://www.geforce.com/landingpage/geforce-lan It's on a fucking Aircraft carrier.
