There's no need for two 6950s yet, trust me I have one, and i'm maxing BF3 with no problems
Drivers? No idea why it is performing so badly
My two 5750's run BF3 maxed at 1920x1080 with 2xaa, no stutter. What kind of CPU do you have?
AMD 955 and 8GB of ram. with the 5770s I was getting 16-34FPS on High, and 40-60 on Medium. Now I'm getting 35-60 on Ultra with the 6950s. BUT my motherboard is a royal Piece of shit (imo), an Asus M4A79 Deluxe. Waiting for the 2011s to come out. Hopefully it helps lower prices, plan to get either a 2500K or a 2600K and a Gigabyte board.
Gigacrap.
Gigacrap.
+1 Gigabyte boards USED to be very good, they USED to be the best. The quality isn't there anymore, i've never used an Asus as of yet but i've heard that they're pretty decent. Kind of reminds me of WD.. And the way Samsung's going too :/

've had 6 Gigabyte Motherboards and only ever had problems with the Micro ATX board i bought. Asus on the other hand I'm .5/5 so far. The latest one "KINDA" works but with fucked up settings, and doesnt even POST 1 outta 5 times. WTF is that kinda shit? 2 died from bad Caps (when they were only 6-8 months old), one died for reasons unknown, and the other one had a bad south bridge. I'm willing to take a chance with another Gigabyte board ANY DAY.

Every manufacturer has had their good and bad products, like when MSI made their 890FX chipsets with 4+1 phase power and badly mounted VRM heatsinks so if you'd overclock to far the board would basically cook itself. But it doesn't mean MSI is bad, same goes for Gigabyte/Asus, they all have their ups and downs. I've never had any trouble with Gigabyte and have used them in most of my builds due to their great prices (most times give ASRock a good run of their money in price:features).
most likely something you did
only 2 of the boards have been in my OWN computer tho. With the current board I've actually narrowed it down to not liking certain sticks of ram so. 2 of the boards were in PCs i built for my mom, 1 was in a PC i built for my dad, and 1 was in a PC which I gave the new board to my uncle to build. All simple setups, no Overclocks, decent power supplys etc. Being A+ cert, I'm fairly certain I didn't fuck up 4 basic builds. Simply bad luck? who knows. I just don't feel like taking yet another chance on asus. Even my G73JW laptop has known issues from the factory....
I myself started with EVGA boards. I usually only look there when upgrading. I do consider MSI, Asus, Gigabyte and ASrock though. Still I love EVGA.
MSI seem to understand that it's important to have a good colour scheme even on the cheap boards - blacks and blues, no pink or cream bullshit

But other then that it's so much better then any other OEM laptop.. Also i'm going for A+ one day! Was it hard? :D
Every manufacturer has had their good and bad products, like when MSI made their 890FX chipsets with 4+1 phase power and badly mounted VRM heatsinks so if you'd overclock to far the board would basically cook itself. But from what i've read Asus are better and have less problems generally :p Plus i love the Asus Brand, hence the Asus laptop, Asus monitor...
oh man A+ cert im so sorry for doubting your ability
I wasnt saying it like that. I've made mistakes and i have blown shit up sure. But your telling me outta 15 computers I built in that 1 year time frame, I fucked up all 4 ASUS builds but not any of the other 11? Cmon. On top of that, They each worked for an amount of time (2 weeks - 6 1/2 months) before they died... And Sexy - The only problem Mine seems to have (which i think almost EVERY G73 has regardless of exact model) Is the shitty trackpad drivers or firmware. After awhile it stops reconizing any inputs, or just thinks your pushing down on it as hard as you can... Other than that I use the laptop 12 hours a day with no problems for the last year.

To fix it i just press fn+f9 (to turn it off). Then wipe it with my shirt, then turn it back on! Ta-Da! But yeah, my laptop has a problem with crappily placed VRAM supposedly, after a year or so of hard use it just dies :p Thank god for 2 year warranty! I Think i might try to make it die sometime soon :p
NEVER used an EVGA board/product to be honest, from what i've seen they seem to be the best Nvidia GFX card producer?
I've owned two EVGA cards in my life and they've both been great. My 260 has survived intense temperatures for 2 years straight ( 40C-90C ), and my 560 Ti has yet to die. My 780i board from EVGA had problems with the 8pin CPU socket. It would refuse to POST sometimes or even start up at all, I would have to wiggle the 8pin CPU plug until it would finally start up. This started happening to me after 2 years of having the board though, I haven't had problems with it in months though.

Mine has a 8pin CPU Power connector too..
8 pin CPU :byodood:
All motherboards that aren't a couple years old have 2x4pins CPU pins.
All motherboards that aren't a couple years old have 2x4pins CPU pins.
Oh shit you are talking about the power :v: Thought you were talking about 8 pin sockets :v:
All motherboards that aren't a couple years old have 2x4pins CPU pins.
mines a '10er its still 4-pin
High end shit and server stuff.

And the have the best customer service I have ever dealt with. I remember I got an American tech support at 3am within a couple mins. That is just great. My 680i is still running from 06. Now I have their 570, and its exceptional quality. Lifetime warranty too. I think they are the best nVidia brand producer.

I don't have a picture right now. But here are the specs: - i7 2600k CPU @ 4,9ghz with Corsair Hydro100 CPU-Cooler ( Stable clock, about 60 degrees celcius 100% load with Prime95 ) - GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 Motherboard - PowerColor 6970 PCS+ GPU ( Fastest clocked Graphics card of all the 6970's. ) - Cooler Master HAF-X Tower - Zalman MFC1 Fan Controller - 16 GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator DHX RAM ( @ 1888mhz ) - Chieftec Ntro 1200w - Corsair SSD Force Series F120, 120GB External things: G15 Keyboard ( Razer Blackwidow off-keyboard ) G930 Headphones Roccat Sense Glacier Blue Mousepad Razer Naga mice Logitech MX518 Mice ( Off-mice ) BenQ G2420HDB ( 24'' ) Now before you go all A-wall on me having 16 GB Ram, 1200w PSU etc, then I can tell you why; Because I live in Norway, and therefor I have the money for it. :)
Why throw money down the toilet just because you can? Someone said yesterday, "My gaming computer has this, i7 990x, 16GB RAM and 2x590. My job pays well so I can afford this" I lol'd because it's so fucking stupid to buy a Intel x6 CPU as a gaming CPU when it's not meant for gaming.
