NZXT will probably always be generally disliked because many of their cases appear to be designed with appearance in mind more than functionality or quality. Ultimately they're probably about the same as everything else though. Can't say much cause I've never used one.
it's an NZXT case that isn't the phantom do the math
it's an NZXT case that isn't the phantom do the math
What basis do you have to assume this case is bad? The only basis is that NZXT cases are bad; which is blatantly not the case as you admit the Phantom is good.
The overall construction is sturdier than the HAF 932. It has ~as good cooling yet is quieter (cooler too, though) than the 932. It has better cable management. How is it worse? Also it's because I have the RAM installed in 1/3 instead of 1/2 I believe.
The Tempest is literally just the Lexa S internally with just a different shell. And neither are better than the 932 in any way.
What basis do you have to assume this case is bad? The only basis is that NZXT cases are bad; which is blatantly not the case as you admit the Phantom is good.
Just get the NZXT and quit arguing with these guys, They have their opinions you have yours.
Also it's because I have the RAM installed in 1/3 instead of 1/2 I believe.
Were these the ram sticks you got? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-(2x4gb)-corsair-ddr3-vengeance-jet-black-lp-pc3-12800-(1600)-non-ecc-cas-9-9-9-24-xmp-15v If so then you basically installed them into single channel mode on the motherboard. I assumed that Speccy would show the two modules on the summary regardless though. Why you decided to install it this way is beyond me (that is, unless, your CPU cooler is the verdict).

The only basis is that NZXT cases are bad; which is blatantly not the case as you admit the Phantom is good.
are you just not reading or are you being dumb on purpose the basis is that NZXT makes low quality cases the same way I can say diablotek make shitty PSUs, the basis for this is that diablotek sell PSUs that are shit I am not the only person telling you this, so I don't know why you're trying to make it out like I'm out to get you every time you post you find one or two parts you'll become fixated on and refuse to change regardless of how bad they are and what better options are avaliable for a similar or lower price if you're that confident you wouldn't need to ask if they're ok, and yet every time somewhere between posting and receiving a reply you change your mind and decide your ill informed decision is final and cannot be changed [editline]20th November 2011[/editline]
Were these the ram sticks you got? I assumed that Speccy would still detect the two modules regardless though. Why you decided to install it this way is beyond me (that is, unless, your CPU cooler is the verdict).
it's possible, the CNPS12X has less clearance from the motherboard than most large coolers and has known problems with most RAM with heatspreaders, not even stupidly tall heatspreaders like regular vengeance or vengeance lp is shorter than it appears and satanix just installed them incorrectly, possibly because the motherboard manual didn't include a 20 page essay on the basis of why the RAM slot layout was correct
I actually did read the manual and it mentioned that instead of the RAM slots being layed out 1/2/3/4 it was 1/3/2/4 for some reason.
the basis is that NZXT makes low quality cases
You've already admitted that not all NZXT cases are low quality; this argument is going nowhere. [editline]20th November 2011[/editline]
The Tempest is literally just the Lexa S internally with just a different shell.
eeeeh...*Looks at Lexa S pictures* No it's not.
Yes it is. I worked with both. They're the same.
Yes it is. I worked with both. They're the same.
Which Tempest version though?
Which Tempest version though?
The newest one I believe. It was just two weeks ago when I did cable management for a classmate, it looked just like my brother's Lexa S but with better rubber gromets.
The newest one I believe. It was just two weeks ago when I did cable management for a classmate, it looked just like my brother's Lexa S but with better rubber gromets.
If you look at the pictures they are extremely similar, but they have different drive mounts. One looks like it's forward, the other sideways. sorry, wasn't keeping track of which was which when I was comparing.
Yes it is. I worked with both. They're the same.
it's not unheard of IIRC the CM storm enforcer is a HAF 912 Plus with different plastic parts, the base steel case is the same
it's not unheard of IIRC the CM storm enforcer is a HAF 912 Plus with different plastic parts, the base steel case is the same
Yeah I know. But saying the Tempest/Lexa S is better than the 932 is just insane.

My half finished pc; it runs well, but I cheaped out on the PSU and RAM. I have a non stock cooler, but the cables are to short on my psu so I can't put it in just yet.
I'm getting the Rampage IV Extreme together with 16GB RAM and the i7 3930K in march :v:
I'm getting a gun and my bike here by March, I'll be paying you a visit, k?
I'm getting a gun and my bike here by March, I'll be paying you a visit, k?
Then, the heat from the computer will evaporate all the water in your body and make you into a pile of bonemeal :v:
Doing let's plays, redstone tutorials, video editing and 3D modelling :v:
If you're doing maybe like 10 per day I can see it, but I'm on a 2600k and a 20 minute 1080p video can be rendered with x264 into a really good H.264 MKV file in perhaps 25minutes. That's not overclocked. A 3960k is someone who is perhaps producing insane amounts of video content. A 3960k won't help in any of the actual recording. An i5 would perform just as well with recording and modeling. It's the rendering that the 3960k would be coming into play. Even then you're spending 4-5x the price not including the premium cost of the motherboard for probably 30-40% performance increase most scenarios.

Oh nevermind that's not as bad.
I'm not getting the 3960k, I'm getting 3930k :v: But seriously, I have the money so why not?
where are you getting the money
where are you getting the money
Christmas and birthday gifts and regular saving :v:
You lucky little 13 year old. Make sure you thank your grand mother [editline] November 21 2011 [/editline] You are Swedish, this explains a lot
My half finished pc; it runs well, but I cheaped out on the PSU and RAM.
What did you get? Also why half finished? It would've been more affordable and efficient to buy everything in one go unless you have special reasons to do so.
How do you get your computers so clean and free of dust?
Living in areas with low dust. Having cases with manufactured or DIY dust filters. General maintenance with canned air once in a while.
The window on my case is somehow attracting the tiny amounts of dust getting through the dust filters :v:
Guess your dust filters are just as great as mine. Stops the worst of it, but the REALLY FUCKING TINY dust particles still gets through. Well atleast that type of dust is too fine to clog my heatsinks, but it still coats them in a fine layer of grey powder.
I just wipe the outside of my CM 690 II Advanced weekly, i love those dust filters :D
The window on my case is somehow attracting the tiny amounts of dust getting through the dust filters :v:
have you ever made a post without that retarded emote at the end
