Don't the GA-P35-DS3* series have like really cheap voltage regulation?
I used to run my system on this board and I overclocked the shit out of it for a couple of years. It did its job good... and it still runs no problem.
Don't know if you seen this but it does really not need a thread and this is the best thread to post it in.

Apparently that is 7970.

Not a chance.
Pepper;33658343']You mean black & blue?
I've still got that core 2 quad.
when you had that q6600 how high did you OC it milky?
I can't seem to get it past 3.1GHZ stable.
My Q6600 runs at 3.3. What's your problem with it? You are upping the voltage, and making note of Vdroop, right?
Not a chance.
You're right. That's suppose to say 3.7ghz. Heh, my bad.
According to some tech forums, I could probably get it to like 4.1ghz but I'm extremely new to OC'ing stuff so I'm scared.
Not with that board or cooling, I'd say you're at your peak and then some.
What are your temperatures and peak CPU voltage?
And overclocking your northbridge is important too.
Not with that board or cooling, I'd say you're at your peak and then some, I'm surprised you got 3.7ghz.

It's not even 3.7ghz, my bad, it's 3.9 I guess?

Also, it's about 30c at idle, 50-60 full load. Is that bad?
I dunno how to find the voltage because I'm useless. :kiddo:
e: Also, this is the first time I've heard of this Northbridge business. Guess I got some reading to do.
How did you almost get 4ghz on a 4+1 phase motherboard with no VRM heatsinks and a budget cooler?
Surely, take a screenshot of your Coretemp and CPU-z.
Temperature wise you don't want to exceed 62c CPU, 52c core.
Is this what you need?

1.5v on a 4.1 phase power and open VRM's is cutting it, I'm not saying it's going to blow up but expect large hardware depreciation.
And 35c idle temperature does seem a bit high, run 10 minutes of prime95 on blend and see how high it goes, I'd use coretemp as the thuban's seem to like it.
Also, you want to try and keep the HT link between 2000 and 2150mhz or as close to that as possible as that's the sweet spot for stability on thubans, no performance difference though.

I do not know how to do the majority of what you just said, but, I will try and learn. :v
Should I cut back the multiplier for my CPU for now (considering that's all I know how to currently do)
I'd go to 3.6-3.7ghz and 1.375/1.4v to be safe, try bump the NB to 2600mhz with a CPU-NB voltage of 1.25v.
Did I do it right Doctor? v:v:v

e: Also, this is probably me being stupid, but it wouldn't let me adjust NB Voltage?
Voltage is still too high, try 1.4v and 3.7ghz.
And you need to adjust CPU-NB voltage, not NB.

Oh dear.
I've had my Phenom II x4 940 running at 1.6v 3.6GHz on a 4+1 phase mobo with no VRM heatsinks. :v:

Case is Core3000, im modding it bit soon. Need to do some cablemanagement holes, and making window on the sidepanels.
Oh, and i had litle accident with my HD6950 and the Arctic Cooling Xtreme plus II cooler.. Need to replace the originial fan of the Xtereme Plus,
so thats why i dont have any videocard in.
I love my Z68 Pro3 and i5 2500k, it runs CS:S and WoW really great, even without the HD6950.
Heres my old Case, Antec 300. Made some changes on:

Got my HD6950 working, replaced fans.
What was wrong with it in the first place?
Where'd you get your VGA cooler? Would you recommend it over stock fans?

That, fucked up the original cuulers, so i replaced it whit 3x90mm.
I like it more now, much better.
Bought it from finland store, for 60€.
Arctic Cooling Xtreme plus II

Its much better than the HD6950 Toxic original, my temps was on 90 when i was playing.
Now they say under 50 all the time, so yes i would recommend it.

I want to show my computer, but my cable management is pitiful.
800D?
800D?
Yeah. I was skeptical at first as it does have a fairly monster pricetag for a case. But it was definitely worth it, the cable management is beyond amazing and you have to put in virtually no effort to make it look nice.

I can tell that's an Core3000 case, it also looks a bit smaller than I'd imagine it would be but it's honestly a great change from all those heavy LED and huge PC's I've seen here.
Also what are peoples aesthetic and practicality opinion on the Fractal Define Mini? It's basically a shorter version of the R3 and I'm thinking of getting it sometime soon in the future.
I wish I was watercooling and I'd go for the 800D. I always thought it looks stunning. Like finally a performance case that looks good.

I think someone is just mad they can't afford modern hardware.
Enjoy your MSI board that will break.
It's a top brand. Do your homework please. I bet he had bad experience with one and thinks they are all bad.
