He randomly bashes on things he doesn't like, like in the BF3 thread you can almost always see him saying negative things about AMD/ATI. Ignore him.
It's a top brand. Do your homework please. I bet he had bad experience with one and thinks they are all bad.
I saw a ton of reviews on newegg and most of them were DOA. I even went to Fry's on black friday and they had some MSI boards on display, one of them with bent CPU pins. Not to mention the bulldozer chips were missing millions of transistors somehow. I'm just spreading the word of glory. I have nothing on ATI other than my AGP 9600 Radeon Pro 128mb couldn't run Crysis.

And doesn't mean is was MSI who bent the pin. Could have been Fry's when it was put on display, or maybe that's WHY it was on display. As a DISPLAY only product.
Reviews stating DOA are usually meaningless when it comes to the product iself, firstly people who have had a not so convenient or expected purchase are much, much more inclined to write a review saying so, not only that but DOA purchases do happen and it has nothing to do with the manufacturer 99.9% of the time, it'll be the way it was shipped or the carrier's fault, if half of MSI's products were DOA when received do you really think they'd make money making these boards? Not at all seeing as every motherboard I've ever seen comes with at-least a year warranty in which all of them cover DOA products.
So those 90 dollar Mobos are okay? (after MIR)

Article in question In my experience MSI leaves a lot to be desired in both bang for buck and feature, though the last one I used was an 650i board. The $90 mobos are fine, but don't expect all the features or overclocking headroom of the higher end stuff. Its always a good idea to look at the reviews from actual review sites of comparatively priced boards, tomshardware.com does good roundups from what I have seen; they helped me decide between z68 and p67 motherboard and the different models.
p67 for life
I'd rather go for X79 and a 3960k.. but money says no.
why does the 800D have the HDD fan in that location? im sure there is no air vent on the case door where that fan goes
There is, actually. I'd say there's a good inch+ between that fan and the side panel. Edit: Didn't read your post properly. There's no vent on the side panel, the 800D draws all it's cool air from the bottom of the case. I was a bit curious at first as to how that thing would get air, but it does.
why does the 800D have the HDD fan in that location? im sure there is no air vent on the case door where that fan goes
Self explanatory with the chart.
I watched OC3D's review of the 800D and while I think it's one of the best cases, it's definitely not for air cooling. If air cooling were better I'd buy it right now.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/wOuwk.jpg[/t] Installed a Xonar STX, now I just need to do something about my silver psu..
I started disassembling my XPS 720 case... Currently it's lying on its front grill, left side open. As you can see, I took the rear plastic grill off. Seems to be bent a little... but oh well, I'm gonna saw it up anyway. inside Stuff I screwed out so far. Rear plastic grill, BTX motherboard try and the left door from inside. Rear plastic grill from the side you don't see it. Now follows the hardest part of the work... transforming the backside from BTX to ATX.
Now follows the hardest part of the work... transforming the backside from BTX to ATX.
I am very interested to see how this goes down.
I am very interested to see how this goes down.
I imagine lots of dremeling and lots of riveting/welding/screwing
Pepper;33768747']I imagine lots of dremeling and lots of riveting/welding/screwing
Exactly. And I also need to figure out which 2 pins are for the power button, HD LED, power LED, etc...
That is bringing me down because my build is so shitty compared to yours
Don't be. I'm a spoiled kid with pro cable managing skills :v: [editline]dont see this[/editline] To be honest, I've worked for the money to buy this so not fully spoiled.
Core: 775MHz Shader: 1550MHz Memory: 2000MHz
My 570 is clocked to: Core: 810 Shader: 1620 Memory 2200 Idle: 30 Load: 56
GPUs can easily withstand 90c+ on load so it doesn't really matter, I think triple slot cards have their uses on dual GPU cards but on single GPU cards I don't see the point, they only make it heavier and make it harder to add a second GPU due to space requirements. For me they're completely unnecessary and just create problems later on.
