just a quick question, is hardware going to change again int he next 6 months? or you think? like new hpu series, etc? because i remember when i built my last computer around 2-3 years ago i bought 2 4870s, and then the 5xxx series came out, and then less than a year later the 6xxx series came out. I plan on doing a new build this summer (i5 or i7, crossfire or sli for sure) and im not sure if i need to wait a little longer. Also, no fanboyism here, but is amd or nvidia gpus better? I know amd is a much better value, but during my time with my 4870s they have been great, but there has been shoddy driver support and a few flaws here and there. So im stuck between the two. Can anybody enlighten me on the subject? Sorry if this is a lot to ask.... here have a pic of my current computer
IvyBridge will be coming out less than 3 months so you could wait for that.
IvyBridge will be coming out less than 3 months so you could wait for that.
is ivybridge another generation of intel processors?
Get the Radeon HD 7970 when it comes out.
whens the expected release?
The 7970 comes out January 9th I think, and Nvidia's next release still won't be for a few more months.
Nvidia is falling behind. They're only releasing the budget GK107 in March, then their mid-range GK196 shortly after.
ok cool, im not planning to build for another 5-6 months, so if at all, prices will decrease or variants of the card will be made for different prices
I think I am getting my money's worth out of my case and power supply :v: Also, GOLD.
Do you not have 2 PCIe connectors on your PSU? Also, see if you can route those front panel cables underneath your video card. You should be able to fit them between where the card goes into the pcie slot and the rear expansion slot. Obviously, you'll have to remove your video card first.
I want to do a cleaner cable job inside my computer, I bought a pack of like 500 tiny black zipties for about $3 at walmart a while back and used it in my current rig. I still feel like it could look cleaner. I love it where you can't see any of the cables in the case.. I just feel like I'm missing something, I try to route the cables behind my mobo tray and it's a total mess back there. Any tips? I've yet to find any helpful tuts or guides on google.

It's a fairly old modular supply that I got used off a friend and it only came supplied with those two beefy Molex cables for old AGP cards. Very reliable and I am reluctant to change it as it still works fine and kicks out more than enough current for any PC I have built yet. I should do that when I next have it open, unfortunately it means removing another 3 cards as well (You can't see it very well but above the 560ti is a firewire card and below it are two tuner cards) Believe it or not, this is after I spent an hour cable managing it, you should see the other side of the mess. Molex trains and cable-ties. Everywhere. (I didn't have enough SATA connectors for the 4 HDDs and ODD so there's a pile of Molex-To-SATA adapters behind those HDDs!) Maybe it Is time to upgrade the PSU... Maybe :v:

MSI is fine
MSI is fine
he's talking about the non-Ti 560
I may be wrong but isnt the fan on the CPU cooler supposed to be on the other side? Or did you configure it to pull instead of push?

If you aren't bothered enough by the cables and they aren't affecting performance (which I highly doubt that they are), then don't buy a new one. Function comes before fashion (for most people).
That 600T looks way more spacious than I originally thought.
I may be wrong but isnt the fan on the CPU cooler supposed to be on the other side? Or did you configure it to pull instead of push?
The RAM heatsinks are probably blocking it.

My p8p67-le doesn't double post as such, it does go through a RAID device check before the initial boot logo and self test even though I don't use RAID, though.
I'm pretty sure you can use the SSD Cache thingy on P67 aswell.
Turns out they do Here
