But they won't unlock its full potential until they put an LGA 1156 socket and ribbon-cable attached PCIe x16 slot :saddowns: I mean what's the worst that could happen? :v:
I was looking around for the cheapest VIA P820, but I found a daughterboard with and AGP and PCIe x1 expansion and pins for something else. [editline]23rd December 2010[/editline] Not going to buy it though, because the whole site was in russian :v:
Xbox 360
The amp I have doesn't have a little cutout, it's just one big mesh grate, good cooling I guess.
Yeah, it's cheap. The mesh is a plastic material, not metal, so it's stretched over a piece of plywood.
Link please, I want to see that.
Lemme go history browsing :pseudo: [editline]24th December 2010[/editline] Well can't find the russian one, but did find this: http://www.linuxfordevices.com/c/a/News/Via-EpiaP830/ [editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
Optionally, Via provides a second carrier board that snaps onto the side of the Epia-P820, taking advantage of the device's available PCI Express expansion (2 x 1-lane). At the cost of increasing overall footprint by an unspecified amount, this add-on (below) delivers two Mini PCI Express expansion slots, "for a wealth of 3G and wireless connectivity options.)
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline] Oh. Bad reading. It's P830 not P820 :saddowns:

Bad reading. It's P830 not P820 :saddowns:
Damn that's awesome. I think Zotac makes an ION card for mini pci-e. And a 3g card too. Shame I was early by a couple months. Also VX900 chipset :h: If you are going to get a pico-ITX, WAIT FOR THIS ONE [editline]23rd December 2010[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500164 nevermind, PCIe x1, not mini :saddowns:
I think I said something about mounting it inside of a wall before.

Microwave oven
Awesome points if it still works as a Microwave.
Awesome points if it still works as a Microwave.
I guess if you put the hardware in the side or back, and put the screen in between the oven and the real door, you might get something useful out of it :v:
Pros: My Dell has had no issues or hiccups with this RAM. Same speed as OE RAM I displaced with this. Cons: None Other Thoughts: At first my PC went through the POST very very slowly for some reason with this RAM. However, I flashed to the latest BIOS rev for my Dell and now it blazes through POST super quick! Thanks Newegg!
I saw an opened PSU the other day that someone had throw out, and I thought "my god, this would make a fairly interesting PC case, Mini-ITX or Pico-ITX, that is the question". Also serves as a good way to start a Xzibit joke. (You're going to need a PSU inside the PSU case after all :v:)

And if you use Pico, then you get an external power brick.

I've always wanted to build a computer in the desk.

Good luck with that

I'm actually interested in doing something with a MATX tower made of aluminum (for weight) and mounting a new very thin LED monitor on the side. I know these basically already exist as business PCs, but more like a LAN build. [editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
I've always wanted to build a computer in the desk.
Here's a build I've been following for a while. [editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
:haw::fh: If they weren't so damn expensive, they could be used in a ultra flexible computer cluster.
I have one of those, you would need a pretty big cluster.
Pico-ITX MoBo 16GB flash drive (for the hard drive) No Optical drive Typical laptop power cord
Won't work. Need mobile-ITX, and I don't think that's available yet. You simply can't fit a pico-ITX board in there with all the cording you need for a true computer. I don't think the EPIA BIOS will let you USB boot, either, so you would need one of these since a Compact Flash module won't fit: http://www.logicsupply.com/categories/flash_storage/sata_flash_modules
A bra :smug:
A pair of panties to hold a dedicated graphics card would be a even better addenum to it. Oh god that's hot
Or in a fish tank? [img_thumb]http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2008/10/340x_aquarium-pc.jpg[/img_thumb]
My brother did that as a senior project for high school. It was really cool, but it made a huge mess, mineral oil is a bitch.
Fishtank full of mineral oil with HDD [or not if you have an SSD] andOptical drive mounted outside, wont do anything to the components because it is non-conductive.
Use a old 3.5" HDD as the case for a Pico-itx system. You'd probably need to CNC out any unnecessary crap from the inside of the gutted HDD though.
