I get that point that I should build it, but wouldn't it be easier, and much cheaper to upgrade my computer?
Yes, but how much you can upgrade it depends on what you already have. What are you using right now? Once we know that, we can tell you how well you can upgrade it. We'll need the motherboard and power supply. [editline]05:45PM[/editline] http://www.livestream.com/supergamer/folder Fallout 3 and L4D2 In there also.
Use anisotropic filtering (instead of trilinear (in EP2)), it makes textures look way better and there's pretty much zero performance impact.
I must try that

Plus, pretty much everything can run Valve games on high these days... My fucking school laptop with some ATI 3200 Mobile or some shit runs Left 4 Dead 2 at 1680x1050, medium settings, 30-50FPS.
Mmkay. I'm still upgrading my computer. I already have a good-ish computer when it comes to hard Drive and GHZ, why not just upgrade the RAM and Video Card?
Mmkay. I'm still upgrading my computer. I already have a good-ish computer when it comes to hard Drive and GHZ, why not just upgrade the RAM and Video Card?
Like I said, tell us the motherboard and power supply and we'll tell you your options.
Like I said, tell us the motherboard and power supply and we'll tell you your options.
How nice of you. I thought about getting a new PC too, but I might even consider just upgrading my old one. But not just right now.
Like I said, tell us the motherboard and power supply and we'll tell you your options.
I will. As soon as I get home. While we are waiting, how do you tell what your motherboard is? Device Manager is ringing in the back of my head for some reason. :bang: EDIT: I was expecting "bang" to be something different :smug:

Time for new pc op.
it can run most shiz on high.

1024x768
I think you're confusing running them on high with being high because you be trippin'
Also I can run gta4 on high, red fraction: guerrilla on high, and I can also get every other game on high.
I can too ... with 1-3 fps
Are any of you going to answer me instead of bickering about how awesome your PC is.
What is your price range
Your motherboard is too old to support anything half decent, since you'd have to get an AGP card (which is a VERY bad idea). We need to know what your Power Supply is (just take a picture or write/post the information on the sticker), so that we can see how much power is available to your computer. I don't know much about american PC prices, but you can probably grab a cheap AMD 760 motherboard and an Athlon II 640 (quad core :) ) or something, that would be a hell of an upgrade from your current CPU.
Also I can run gta4 on high, red fraction: guerrilla on high, and I can also get every other game on high.
Yea, get a new monitor with say a resolution at 1920x1200 and then watch your settings go from high to low.
nobody here can do anything useful unless you post a budget...
It's time for a new pc.
Not everyone has the time or interest to build their own PC... In which case you should point out good pre-built deals.
so your saying I should pay 100-600 dollars more for a computer because I cant take a few hours out of my day to put together a giant and expensive lego set? [editline]01:12AM[/editline]
(User was permabanned for this post ("Troll" - Hexxeh))
Good job hexxeh.
even if you truly are stretched for time, spread the build over a couple of days, maybe even a week.
*pictures* :words: 60 fps on each solid. [editline]05:45PM[/editline] http://www.livestream.com/supergamer/folder Fallout 3 and L4D2 In there also.
1024x768
Price Range: $185
Price Range: $185
What the hell, you want a $600 post in the OP, and you want to build one for $185? You'll barely get anything functional at $185.
What the hell, you want a $600 post in the OP, and you want to build one for $185? You'll barely get anything functional at $185.
^This
I want to upgrade for $185 BTW, is my graphics card any good? Like 40+ fps (without considering the RAM) in Half Life 2/Team Fortress 2 on High is a good graphics card to me.
