yeah, and to me, advertising is a big deal. it says alot about the company. and the lights are gimmicky.
and reapninja, I really don't have time to type out this argument again.
and you accuse me of being a raving g9 fan, while you are a raving kone fan yourself.
You should probably learn to look up reviews of products before judging them based on what the advertising says, there's nothing gimmicky about the Kone, the lights look extremely cool. I don't see why you'd care what the advertising says or what company made it as long as the product works well, which in this case the Kone does.
Also, there was no indication he's a raving Kone fan, unlike you who said you think the G9 is the best mouse to exist right now.

well, for one thing, I've known reapninja way longer than you had, and had this same argument with him many times, and believe me, he is a raving kone fan. of course he's going to deny it now. but it is the truth.
and the g9x has significant technological advantages over the kone, so even though I said it is the best, that doesn't mean it's entirely based on opinion.
and I will not buy a product from a company I disagree with. unless the product is actually really excellent. which the kone most certainly isn't. and I have a disagreement with roccat, based on principle and the way they advertise.
it is also my opinion that the lights don't look "extremely cool", they look like useless shit.
logitech ex110 wireless keyboard & mouse set
may look shit but it has the best mouse i have ever used
and it games very well too

The G9x is better than the Kone in terms of technology, yes. But I don't believe it's the best mouse in existence. Yet, the Kone performs spectacularly well with the specifications it has, you should probably stop saying it sucks until you actually research it for real.
I also find your ways of buying things terribly dumb if you buy things based on how the company presents itself.
well, for one thing, I've known reapninja way longer than you had,
remind me again who the fuck are you? and seeing as you "know" me, you could at least spell my username right.
and if I was a "raving kone fan", I would have bought a Kone not a G5. I acknowledge both the Kone, G9 and many other mice are great choices, unlike you who won't shut up about how the G9 is supposedly better (providing no reasons as to why, other than "it's shitty" and "it's made by roccat")
I personally would choose the Kone over the G9 because it feels more comfortable to me. This thread is "Your favourite gaming mouse" not "what is the best mouse".

This.
It's a great mouse.

find me a better mouse.
and, I buy things that way because high quality and good representation often overlap. so I can have a product thats high quality and from a company I trust and believe in, or a decent quality product from a shit company that I hate. simple choice.

I don't know you in the strictest sense, but it sure sounds a hell of a lot better than "I've argued with him a few times via forum over the same issue"
and you are a raving fan, every time someone asks for what mouse to buy or makes a thread about favorite/best mice, you post about how the kone is the best thing ever without any real backing.
and how the hell do you know what the kone feels like? it's only available online IIRC.
find me a better mouse.

CM Storm Sentinel, Logitech G500, Microsoft Sidewinder X8, and Razer Mamba. I think those are better than the G9 and G9x.
And actually, you'd get a high quality product from both Logitech and Roccat, assuming you were talking about those two companies.

doesn't mean I haven't seen one that someone else already owns :downs:
and I've never claimed it's "the best thing ever". Pretty much all the mice in that price range are personal preference. The only way to choose for yourself would be to try them out and see which feels more comfortable to the buyer. The only one here claiming anything is better or best is you.
And I'm still waiting to see your "backing".
And it sounds like you don't know what the Kone feels like seeing as you're questioning how I know, so explain how you know that it's "not good quality".

the storm sentinel isn't quite as good, but close, g500 looks about the same, x8 is definitely worse, and the mamba is about the same as the storm sentinel.
and I've never claimed it's "the best thing ever".

Does this mouse even have any downsides to it anymore?
.
so explain how you know that it's "not good quality".
well, I don't, but heres a simple but mildly accurate test:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1CHMB_enUS350US350&q=logitech+g9x+Problem&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1CHMB_enUS350US350&q=roccat+kone+problem&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g1
notice the number of results. the g9x is way more popular and still has less problems than the kone.
now I will admit googling isn't the most accurate test, but it can't be completely ignored. and just in various forums and on youtube I hear about people having issues with the kone alot.
a mouse having no downsides =/= it being the best. I've never said anything about the G9 having downsides (other than the grip peeling under a lot of use, not sure if that's been fixed yet), so does this mean I'm also saying the G9 is the best thing ever? :downs:
you seem to be getting desperate.
the storm sentinel isn't quite as good, but close, g500 looks about the same, x8 is definitely worse, and the mamba is about the same as the storm sentinel.
See, I knew you'd say exactly that, you're disregarding everything but the DPI and the Polling rate I bet.
I'd say the CM Storm Sentinel is better than the G9/G9x due to the fact it's literally half the price of the G9x and less than the G9 with the same specs as the G9x(with the exception of 100 DPI) plus the OLED screen and the awesome LEDs.
G500 is better aswell because it's less than the G9x while having the same specs and just looking different.
The Microsoft Sidewinder X8 has BlueTrack and wireless which is very useful in my opinion.
And last the Razer Mamba is also wireless and has the same specs as G9x with the exception of it being 100 DPI below, which barely matters as you won't notice it.

the "awesome" LED's are a matter of opinion. and so is "looking different"
bluetrack, I'll give you that one.
and when was wireless a good thing? well I suppose thats a matter of opinion, but still...

no, but saying that you believe it has no downsides is saying you believe it's perfect, which is another form of "raving fan" in my opinion. nothing is perfect.
I never said it's perfect, I was only saying they'd fixed any problems with it.
and to pretty much sum up every argument you have,
I suppose thats a matter of opinion, but still...
I love my g5. Cheap, reliable, and durable.

Based of the MS Intelli, it's just slightly smaller, has better grip, and greater polling/dpi. Intelli is hard to beat, but if you don't mind smaller mice than this very well may be the best.
and the lian-li pc-p80 won't affect the quality of your computer in any way, or your skills, yet you still buy one.
I think (you know, opinions, taste, etc) that Microsoft mice don't feel the best or function the best. you do.
besides, the g9 isn't entirely a gimmick. it's advantages are quite real. now the kone on the other hand is just gimmicky bullshit.
yeah except my case is quality, and aesthetic. mouse is all about function. a case sits there, you need to physically use your mouse all the time. stupid comparison. also the fact that microsoft mice function and feel the best is not an opinion. you're just been using your horrid logitecs for too long since they were new and hip and you've become accustomed to it. do not confuse this with being good.

I would also like to take the opportunity to point out how DISGUSTINGLY hideous this mouse is.
[editline]04:36PM[/editline]
yeah let's give it a bunch of ugly blue cracks all over it. oh and while we're at it let's totally fuck with the black and blue theme it's got going on and give arbitrary orange lights.
Second that, it's an absolutely hideous mouse, the form is all well and good but the pattern on the mouse is just garish and tacky.

that one is pretty ugly too. they made it sepia and dusty looking to match all those nextgen games you'll be playing.
I would also like to take the opportunity to point out how DISGUSTINGLY hideous this mouse is.
I see you hating the look of so many things that it lost all meaning a long time ago
I'm using a razer diamondback 3g.
Very nice, but who needs a mouse when you could use this:

Because you'd look like an utter wanker using that. But seriously, mice are popular for a reason and some gimmicky controller isn't going to change that.

have only recently begun using the g9x, before tat I used a Microsoft sidewinder... something... the wired one. and before that used generic brand shit.
I think it's a perfect comparison. for example,

you've (is English a second language for you?) just been using your horrid lian-li's for too long since they were new and hip and you've become accustomed to them. do not confuse this with being good.
in my opinion(which seems to be something you take as fact, even when it isn't) an antec 90 works and looks just as good as a p80. you think that an explorer looks and works just as good as a g9x. I think it's a good comparison.
but function and feel are opinions/subjective whether you like it or not.

actually my first real case was an antec
this is my first lian li. it's immeasurably better. and no english is my first language, it's just that sometimes people make typos or flat out don't give a shit on the internet (it's crazy i know)
and you say you used a microsoft sidewinder. they're gamer gimmick bullshit (unlike they keyboard) while being microsoft. i'm talking about the basic microsoft mice, they're amazing mices, especially for their price. while my microsoft mouse is a bit of a gamer thing (habu) it also retains the functionality and form of a classic microsoft mouse. the sidewinder mouse is rubbish though, i guess they needed at least one product to compete with logitec's horrible things.

In your opinion. To other people the logitech mouse is great and works good for them. It comes down to what works and feels good to the end user.
