I got this bad boy too!
Because you'd look like an utter wanker using that. But seriously, mice are popular for a reason and some gimmicky controller isn't going to change that.
uhh that controller's p. popular and support for lots of games has been added
Second that, it's an absolutely hideous mouse, the form is all well and good but the pattern on the mouse is just garish and tacky.
+1
It looks like the paint is cracking.

I've had this mouse for roughly 10 years. Best damn mouse ever.

Just so you know, there isn't nearly as many cracks on the actual product as there is on that picture, it looks considerably different.
I only have ever used it for melee attack buttons in games, I never got into the habit of using it while web browsing.
you should really train yourself to use it, it saves me so much time web browsing
I do wonder how come when Logitech release their products which is good the first time, they have to screw it up somehow the second version
Are there any gaming mice that are wireless, if yes that don't cost like $100.

What the hell are you on, the second version of Logitech's products are always better than the first.

above post
also, the Logitech G5 looked loads better without that blue stuff ontop.

Logitech G7 is a fucking beast.
G15v2 disagrees with you
I think the G15v2 is better than the first. Maybe because I like orange over blue and in my opinion it looks a lot nicer and sleeker than the first, and hasn't lost any of it's functionality, just a smaller LCD and less G keys. (I would never use all of them anyway)
;18214204']Logitech G7 is a fucking beast.
The G7 is not a very good mouse to buy nowadays, it's worse than the Sidewinder X8 and also more expensive, and I find it dumb that the previous mouse they make(G5v2) has two side buttons but in a newer mouse(G7v1+v2) they removed a side button.
I was given one of those fancy gaming mice for Christmas last year.

I like the feel of it in my hand more than most other mice, given that it doesn't have the pronounced hump that a lot of gaming mice seem to have, nor does it feel like I'm moving a rat corpse around like a normal mouse.
About there is where my likes end.
The right-hand side buttons ( 6 and 7 ) are absolutely useless. With the shape of the mouse, they're awkward to use and feel more like they're there to make it ambidextrous than anything else, given that I can either set them to the normal functions, profile switching, or simulate key presses.
The mouse wheel is completely shot after eight months of use. The rubber wheel itself slips and doesn't always register movement, and the button itself is mostly unresponsive to the point I rebound mouse 4 to mouse 3 for the functionality.
The mouse fucks up occasionally and turns off entirely. I have to unplug it from the computer and plug it back in to get it working again.
Give me this with side buttons. They're indestructible and work just as well.

Been using one of those for three years now on my laptop. Have worn out one of the four feet from use, but nothing else has happened to it.
If I wasn't so spoiled with having five mouse buttons, I'd use that in a heartbeat.

Razer Diamondback 3G
It squeaks and it's god damn annoying.
yeah except my case is quality, and aesthetic. mouse is all about function. a case sits there, you need to physically use your mouse all the time. stupid comparison. also the fact that microsoft mice function and feel the best is not an opinion. you're just been using your horrid logitecs for too long since they were new and hip and you've become accustomed to it. do not confuse this with being good.

It's all fucking opinion based, there's no fucking need to bash people.
So in my opinion, you're contradicting yourself because in all the fucking Keyboard threads you're like blah fucking blah Sidewinder is awesome keyboard fucking G15 who needs scren blah blah. Yet, here, you're like blah fucking blah Logitech Mice are just gamer gimmicky bullshit wahhhhh.
Honestly, the Sidewinder is gimmicky gamer bullshit. "hey guise pay more because fucking shit our numpad can be on the LEFT side awwww shiz dawg"
You have no right to bitch at people if they can afford spending more money for mice that esentially do the same thing yes, but, have a few more extras that make life easier. Extra buttons, which are useful for VoIP clients, on the fly DPI adjustment, different grips, etc.
Not to mention I'd rather have this sitting on my desk,

then well, this.

you guys really haven't figured out this "i am always right and only my opinion matters" thing yet have you
also i didn't pay more for my sidewinder because it was on special and far cheaper (and more functional and better looking) than any disgusting logitech keyboard.
[editline]01:48AM[/editline]
i have nothing against gamer bullshit as long as it's GOOD, not a piece of shit with the only selling point being its useless gimmicks and horrible design (eg logicech keyboards and mice)
i'm not bashing logitech, i have logitech speakers and they're quite nice and not hideous, unlike their gaming peripherals.

it wasn't working at all for a week or two, so i emailed them about it, and they sent me the newer one (completely free, might i add, and i did not get a warranty, either)

as luck would have it, the older one works, again. so i have 2 G5s.
[editline]07:02AM[/editline]
and yes rusty the newer G5 has an ugly as fuck style on it. it's still comfortable, however. the reason it's styled as such is it originally released as a promotional...thing for c&c 3: tiberian wars (promotional stuff you pay for, as if being promotional material for a massive let down wasn't bad enough).
[editline]07:04AM[/editline]
i prefer the style on the older one, i just wish it was glossier and wasn't painted just so it would look like it does in the picture when you look at it at the same exact angle. the picture makes it look like it's got a metal surface, so when it arrived i was like "oh sweet my new - what the fuck is this shit"

surprise no i'm not wait that's no surprise
I can't hear myself think over the constant noise of people treating their opinions as fact
(eg logicech keyboards and mice)
I have a G15v2 and a G7.
First up, the G7 - I don't think there's actually any "special" features on it that could be counted as "gamer bullshit". Okay it has adjustable sensitivity, but I find that useful in some games where for example the vehicle turret speed is totally different to the normal aiming speed.
Secondly, the G15. Okay I've never used the "G keys" and the LCD just displays some temperatures and the framerate (Which is actually useful for when your graphics card heatsink gets full of dust.), but it is actually a nice keyboard to use. The back-lighting on the keys is something that you don't need at first, but when you go back to a keyboard without it you miss it. It also has the disable Windows key feature which is very useful. Above all that, it just feels nice to use in the ergonomics sense.
I don't see the point in adjustable weight mice to be honest, but it's personal preference - Don't forget that.

Higher DPI is not better. It's all about the polling rate. My mouse can go 3200dpi but I just keep it at 800dpi with 1200hz of polling rate.
The vast majority of pro gamers just use optical mice with hacked usb drivers that increase polling rate. When you have higher DPI mice lose stability, but with a higher polling rate you get better response time which is most important.

What the fuck? Yes polling rate is very important but on a higher DPI mouse, it most definitely does not lose stability, I have mine set to 2000 DPI with 1000Hz and it feels a lot better than 800-1600 DPI.
Although resolution does come into play here, I run at 1920x1080 so that might be a contributing factor on why it feels better. However when I ran on 1280x1024 I still preferred 2000 DPI over 800-1600
