What the fuck? Yes polling rate is very important but on a higher DPI mouse, it most definitely does not lose stability, I have mine set to 2000 DPI with 1000Hz and it feels a lot better than 800-1600 DPI.
Although resolution does come into play here, I run at 1920x1080 so that might be a contributing factor on why it feels better. However when I ran on 1280x1024 I still preferred 2000 DPI over 800-1600
You can argue all you want. But the fact is most professionals don't bother with high dpi settings, so there are certainly reasons for not having higher dpi.

Professional FPS players? I am quite sure they use higher DPI settings as twitch shots rely on higher DPI settings, which is very useful in FPS games.
Maybe pro MMORPG and RTS players, they don't really need to use higher DPI.
Actually, most people I play with use low DPI with high sensitivity. My friend was CAL-I and went to CPL Winter two years in a row uses 400 DPI with 20 sensitivity.

For CS 1.6
A Razer Diamondback 3G with that original DB transparent shell. Ordering a HeatoN Qpad soon.
Why do you need all these doodads and what have you?

Simplicity is the way to go.

nope no it is not. i prefer having sensitivity controls RIGHT there on the mouse. forward and backward buttons are extremely handy, and ergonomics go a long way. i fucking hate using a plain mouse like that, browsing just the PC and the internet is a pain, and they're just not at all comfortable.
I hate my college for using damn plain mice with their 3 buttons, you don't truly notice what you really have until it's gone

also ooh a cheap mouse elitist, I haven't seen one of those before...
I'm stuck between the Roccat Kone and the CM Storm Sentinel. Help?
storm sentinel for sure. it's technologically better, and it's not made by a shitty company that takes advantage of idiots.
^ you really do look silly, because for one any company that doesn't spring on the chance to profit from idiots is a company that will do badly
you best bet is to try out both mice and see which you like most, but that's unlikely seeing as they're both mostly available online. It pretty much comes down to which you like more and which you think you'd be more comfortable holding
Roccat Kone looks a lot more comfortable.
I love my Copperhead. The plastic side thingies get a little dirty tough, but it works still works fine so no reason to replace it.

Sentinel has the OLED screen, but by the looks of it it's not really that useful: http://www.guru3d.com/article/cooler-master-sentinel-advance-mouse-review-test/4
bit of a shame it's not in a better position (not covered by your hand) and isn't a bit more like the G15's screen
Oh that's sexy but completely fucking useless because my hand is going TO BE ON TOP OF IT.
Microsoft Sidewinder x3. I would use something else, but I'm left handed.

why does a mouse need an oled screen
I love my Intellimouse 3.0.
why does a mouse need an oled screen
displaying DPI, apparently
I suppose they were trying to copy the G15 and maybe gave up and left it as is when they realised it was silly

the g15 is a keyboard. you can't copy a keyboard by making a mouse.
they were copying the idea of having a screen in it :downs:
they were copying the idea of having a screen in it :downs:
still doesn't really work, instead i think they were just trying to copy mice that indicate the DPI in general, as well as one up them.
i don't think it has anything to do with keyboards that have screens.
[editline]06:07PM[/editline]
but a mouse doesn't need a screen, period, just indicative LEDs
Looks like one those "It looked good on paper" situations
well yeah if something like a cup holder for a table looked good on paper.
table cup holder sounds useful, i want one
The future is now, table cup holders
I have the G5 mouse and I can honestly say it was the best 50 bucks I spent.
i wouldn't ever say a mouse was the best money i ever spent. now a blu ray drive, that was the best money i ever spent (not even kidding)
I use this cause it was cheap.
