Every time I go in this thread I start getting jealous over everyone's setups and cool stuff and I realize I have no money and no job.

My roomate just bailed on me, so I have to bail back home. No more my apartment. I mean fuck I thought he was trustworthy. Ha, guess that's a lesson learned.

Nothing has changed since.
That's pretty off. There are some very high quality headsets that Shure and whatnot make for sportscasters/talk radio. Hypercaridoid Capsule Condensers mostly. I have one myself, the Shure 512. It's about on par with shitty desktop condensers such as the AT2020. Obviously mono though, but mono is great for speech.
How is the 2020 shitty? I think for its price, it is amazing for recording sound effects depending on what type of audio you are recording. I recorded dozens of the sounds for No More Room in Hell with the AT2020, and in other projects gunshots, and smaller explosives... I find the frequency response and sound coloration/temp great for boom and bang type audio.

Are we talking the USB or the XLR? If it's the USB, it's obvious. The XLR isn't terrible for price, but I'm just use to higher grade microphones so I guess that's just my elitism showing.
You worked on No More Room in Hell?
:O

USB actually. Keep in mind I got it factory refurbished for 90 dollars 2 years ago, and I used FL Studio to route the mic through the mixer and ended up with a pretty decent mobile recording setup complete with software compressors and other stuff.
Don't get me wrong, it will not come anywhere close to the overall quality of many other similarly priced microphones, but for my first mic and not knowing what the hell i was looking for, i think i ended up with a good setup. I hardly use the 2020 anymore, but sometimes I break it out for recording deeper vocals and other stuff.

Well in my opinion atleast, the USB is totally over hyped and overpriced. So many people are just like "omg best mic ever" which makes other blind buyers want them, and it's just a vicious chain of people who do not have the proper environment for a condenser, ending up with a condenser. It has terrible interference compared to the XLR version, and it's 40 bucks more. USB condensers in general are just a bad idea tbh, and are more or less usually terrible and more expensive.

Yus!
Welt, I have the USB version and want to move to a nicer mic soon as well as a mixer/preamp. Do they run via USB normally or firewire? And I could use all this with any normal application that accepts a microphone yes?
What would you suggest for maybe 350 total for mic and mixer?

I know, believe me I do. I just think I got a good deal for a mic I had no knowledge with as a first mic, and I made the most out of it being that I had no money to get an audio interface for XLR stuff.

What are you going to use the mixer/microphone for?
Also, there are some USB mixers, I'm not a fan though tbh, you should just get a multichannel interface or 5.1/7.1 sound card.

I bought a new desk yesterday, and also got a new monitor.
This was my old setup. I hadn't built my new PC when I took this.

What Keyboard is that?
I believe that is a WASD keyboard, the company that makes them lets you make custom designs.

They will etch anything you want onto the keys as long as you send the design to them.
In that case I'll draw a giraffe for the enter key
I want it to function like a Norwegian keyboard, so I guessed I could change the keys, but the keys have the same function just a different skin.
Is there a way to change the layout?

What do you mean? If you want the ISO layout with the inverted-L enter then you can't customise one. Though if you want the ANSI layout with the single row enter then you can just change the key markings.

Each country has their own key layout including accent characters.
