I used my 5.1 system in 5.1 for like a week when I got it in 2006. Then I discovered headphones.

Headphones are usualy uncomfortable for me.
I love having a good pair of speakers.

I never really understood why white cases are so rare. It's like noone uses them for an unspoken reason because they're blasphemous to the black-case-master-race cause or something.

Color schemes.
Black is more subtle, and probably blends easier in comparison to white.

Headphones will always sound better for the price though, atleast until you get $3,000+, more convenient too, comfort can be an issue though.

And how often do you see White monitors, speakers, keyboards and mice?

Are those DT880's?
DT770's. Makes me wonder since they're plugged in, how do you drive those with just regular onboard laptop sound? Even if they're the 80ohm version, they'd be pretty quiet afaik. Unless theres something I'm missing here.
Who says work can't be fun?

Um... I have the 80ohm version and they work pretty good with the onboard laptop soundcard. They even work on a iPod Classic.
I just plugged them into my 160gb classic, they're not nearly as fun without ampage. Try em with a FiiO E6 or something.

Is that the Dell IPS 24" one? How is it for games as well as films, etc.

Yeah, I usually use them at home with a amplifier, but this suffices at work.
Is that the Dell IPS 24" one? How is it for games as well as films, etc.
Dunno if it's the IPS one, the image quality is okay for work, but for movies and games I wouldn't use it. (Could be he fact that I use VGA too.)
DT-770s go more than loud enough without an amplifier, they don't sound as good obviously but you'd have to be a masochist to want them any louder, even the short time I had with the HE-6s (the most power hungry headphone you can buy) they went loud enough for enjoyable listening out of onboard, a bit low though.
Well shit I guess I'm a masochist!
Well shit I guess I'm a masochist!
Definitely bad for your ears if full volume without an amplifier isn't loud enough.
Listening to your music really loud will fuck up your ears and you'll be blind in the future.

Is that keyboard (on the right) good? it's got weighted keys probably, so I assume it's good :P

Late reply but anyway. The speakers are more of a backup.
Late reply but anyway. The speakers are more of a backup.
still, it's 5.1
i think if you are going to have 5.1 then they should at least be setup right
Here we go again...
I have nowhere to put the rear speakers. They dont float.

Then don't buy a 5.1 system.
I have a 5.1 system but only use the front 3 and the sub. I only use the rear speakers when I have my PC upstairs during the winter.

I've been playing too much Mass Effect it seems, I read that as "I have nowehere to put the Reaper speakers."
