found my old CRT and put it on a filing cabinet next to my shitty desk
also Galaxian mini arcade cabinet for when shit is loading
Thinking of a new desk since my current one is tiny.
I know everyone recommends galant and I can see why...but does anyone have this:

Vika Amon, £32. Could anyone tell me how sturdy it is/isn't?
Also, my computer has an air intake on the underside. I don't really want to put it on the floor, since it's carpeted and will therefore suck up lots of dust and sink into the carpet, rendering the underside air intake useless. How do you guys solve this problem?
Oh PS I don't really want it on the desk either

Go out, get yourself a small bit of plyboard, laminate, countertop scrap, or any sort of solid surface from your local home improvement store.
Place it on the floor next to your desk.
Place your PC on top of it.
Simple.
I got the rest of my desk.

I have the same desk, got it at menards for 60 bucks
sweet jesus, I would kill for a new chair and a galant
i've got barely enough room for me elbows on my desk and my chair has the same amount of padding as a 5 year old down comforter draped over a board

Australian prices are fucked. 300$ isn't bad for a brand new desk like that here.

It's awesome but it's also expensive. You should see our power bills.
Anyway, I saw someone had some light strips to light their keyboard, can I get a source on these?
The center display is a 27" Crossover LED 2560x1440 which replaced my center ASUS 24". I am surprised my triple display stand could support it, it's normally rated for 24" displays max. Eventually when I get more desk room I will purchase 2 more Crossovers, it's a great display.

I have the same desk but the longer version, with a leg in the middle as well as the side ones. It's sturdy enough for my needs, and I usually have quite a lot of stuff on my desk. You have to be careful with it though, as the paint will chip off if you hit it with something hard enough. It's a good desk for the price though, so if you're on a budget I'd go for it.

Thanks for the info. Could you tell me if it wobbles or not? Like if you thump your desk laterally (I.E on the sides not on the top) does it shake everything?
I have a 10 year old desk from IKEA that used to be part of my bunk bed when I was little. If I even so much as flick it the whole thing wobbles :v:
I have my printer on top of a plastic drawer rack thing
When you start printing, the whole thing shakes back and forth

Yes it will wobble and cause things on to wobble, but only if the objects themselves are in a position to wobble, and only if you bash it considerably hard. It also depends what sort of floor you have it on. Mines on carpet which i guess would stop it from wobbling so much, whereas if it was on a wooden floor it may wobble more. I would also suggest, if you're worried about wobbling, getting the larger version with 5 legs, if you have enough space, as I can imagine that would be more stable.
So my parents 32" TV broke this morning. I told them if they bought me a new monitor for like $120 that was 1080p, they can have my 32" TV that was better than theirs and cost more. I think they'll take me up on it.

why can't I have a nice room
why can't I have a nice room
because you're poor
my room is nice, I have a desk and it does the job
but looking through this thread makes me realize
I need a bigger desk. I mean I'm currently using a desk that's pretty small, but it's got some neato design shit going on, and then to the right of me I've got this cabinet sorta thing about the size of a file cabinet.
Well, a word of advice... Six feet is probably too much. I've got twelve feet, but I only use the front six. The back six is a workspace I never use, unless I'm hosting a LAN.
I decided to make my entire room 1 large Galant desk so I have about 20 feet, it wraps around a corner though so my actual workspace is about 6 or 7.
For those of you that are wanting a new desk:
I know, but my mom is very OCD with dust falling on things or scratches, although not with huge air bubbles for some reason, so that's why it's the way it is right now.
