How do I build a desk with no instructions?
put the horizontal piece of wood on top of 2 vertical pieces of wood
id feel weird having a naked girl as a background, i dont know how id feel having it span all around me
Why?
i dunno, multiple reasons, the most prominent being not feeling comfortable viewing naked people every time i minimize a window. I dunno, just doesn't feel right to me. Moral compass? I dunno. I dont have any reason, I just don't like it i guess, it seems distasteful to me

Taken using a bad HTC Desire camera. Thinking about taking a better picture after the weekend.
Holy shit

We have like, almost the same desks
Yay! Finally built it. Sorry if it isn't the best shot but my seat of my chair is a disgrace. My left monitor looks more coloured because its so yellow tinted compared to the right. My right monitor, I had to tone the red down to remove the red patch in the corner (so will be refunding on monday)
I will at some point get a better picture of the desk as a whole
[THUMB]http://oi46.tinypic.com/28a6b9d.jpg[/THUMB]
Things I need to do:
- Replace left monitor to a cheap black 24" 16:9 OR get a 23" Dell IPS screen just for other stuff.
- Upgrade RAM
- Get a new case (although you can't see it, it has open gap where dust can get in but I can dust it regularly. I may just put this towards the Dell monitor instead, just have to dust/clean more)

It's alright, could be better. Does the job, but probably why i've not been too keen on listening back to my voice using it. Mind you, that could just be my voice :v:
What would you recommend to someone who wants to get into gaming commentary?

If you have a headset that you use often, get a Modmic.

I had a Modmic. I bought it after lurking the headphone thread but I ended up replacing it with a desktop mic.

Costs a lot :v: I'll stick with my current one and see how my channel goes before jumping for it, thanks also!

No problem. It's a good microphone, but I ended up deciding to go for the MXL .006 just because I liked the look better.
Also, the Blue Snowball is also very common but some people don't like them.

You should see the 2050, 4022, and 4050. Now THOSE are some expensive microphones :v:

I use a Blue Snowball, it's very high quality but can be a little quiet at times.
The snowball sounds really tinny in most of the review videos I've watched.
The Samson GoMic actually has really good clarity for the price. I use it and it's great.

Sold on the Samson, nice and affordable. Will do nicely.
It's whether my gaming commentary, etc. will kick off. Settling for my Labtec one until I eventually improve on my commentary and it's worth while.
You should invest something more serious, you can get better shit that's not mobile just because the mobile part puts a higher pricetag on it.

Honestly though, there are no condenser mics that I have seen at a lower price than the GoMic at all. Just because it's portable doesn't make it any worse.
I would say this though, get a stand and pop filter as the little condensers in there aren't great at holding against blasts of air.
[editline]25th June 2012[/editline]
That goes for any condenser mic, actually.

You know you can rotate images permanently in windows by just right clicking and selecting rotate?
I could never understand putting a subwoofer onto a desk. If it vibrates, surely it's going to damage the monitor eventually?
Just wondering, as it's why I keep mine on the floor but the problem is i'm upstairs and vibrates downstairs when loud :v:

The hard disk would be a bigger concern to me.
The hard disk would be a bigger concern to me.
Modern HDD's are pretty well shielded. if its just a shitty 25w sub I highly doubt it would cause any data loss.

You underestimate how much magnatism a HD can handle before you get problems. A sub next to the case won't do shit.
