My friends go there all the time and my grandmother used to live there. Pretty much the party beach.
I'm a stop 20 man, myself. Occasionally Stop 25 because my grandmother lived there and was given permission to use it.
its died down a little bit because of what happened at 26 on the fourth here last year, but its still fun. Long beach cops are the worst though, saw about 4 of them on the side of the road lights flashing and all because of fireworks.

I went to IKEA today to pick up a new desk. When I used to lurk in this thread a while ago, everyone recommended the GALANT, so I looked around for it. I eventually found them and I was disappointed. The A-frame ones were supposed to be sturdy and high quality, this was anything but. Maybe it was poorly assembled, but the other GALANT A-frames were no different (they all rocked under pressure)
So I went for this instead:

A little more pricey (~Extra £15, bringing it to £100 (~$155)), but: larger desk space, more sturdy, and a handly little pull-out extra (I can see myself putting books on it and stuff for Uni). The thing you can see extruding from it pulls out about a metre or so.
Not assembling until I move in in September, so no pictures yet. Very much looking forward to it, though! The thing was rock solid, very pleased

Then those were put together badly. I have the T leg ones and I slept on my desk when I redid my room. I can sit on it and walk on it and it won't do anything. It will shake a little but it's not going anywhere even with all my crazy stuff on it like my big monitor stacks of harddrives, CD cases, motherboards, etc. It holds up well.
Yeah that was in the back of my mind. That and it looked much worse than in the pictures. It's like going on a date after seeing pictures online rather than meeting beforehand. Never going to look as good I guess :v:
But yeah, I just though I'd spend a little more for more space and something that looked nicer
I read that the top is .75" thick, that sounds pretty flimsy.

i move into my new apartment in less than 3 weeks and knowing that i would need a desk i went ahead and started working on one. bought construction quality wood (think plywood top, 2x3s, etc) for a total of $34. got most of the construction done saturday and sunday, just need to finish the top (going to band the sides so it's not unfinished before sanding it) and then attach it and get the whole thing sanded one more time and stained.

comes part into 6 pieces with the footprint of the top. takes just a few screws to put together and take apart for transport. bigger surface than my current one. i might eventually put drawers in but i'd like to work on other projects first. holding off on posting it assembled until it's finished

and yes it's fucking littered with screws. i need to bring it down in less than 2 weeks (during which i work 60+ hours a week and had surgery) so i wasn't about to actually use dowels or biscuits or anything. won't be too obvious since it's being stained so dark

My desks finally got here today and they were pretty easy to put together and already look pretty good. Just need to finish unpacking my PC so I can fill up the other desk with stuff.
When i got my current desk i posted above i set everything up was like yes fun time of overnight pc gaming and then i moved my mouse and nothing happened, i then stared at my screen for 10 minutes cause i knew what was wrong
