I honestly am waiting to get a TV and two more monitors before I dare post pics of my room. So messy.

Tripple 30"?
I don't want to spend that much on two more space heaters. I'd consider it if they had LED ones.

I'm liking it, nice chair. Hopefully will get something more like that. I'd get rid of the whiteboard though.

small LAN party with my friend, laptop for the win. :)
I went to IKEA today to pick up a new desk. When I used to lurk in this thread a while ago, everyone recommended the GALANT, so I looked around for it. I eventually found them and I was disappointed. The A-frame ones were supposed to be sturdy and high quality, this was anything but. Maybe it was poorly assembled, but the other GALANT A-frames were no different (they
A little more pricey (~Extra £15, bringing it to £100 (~$155)), but: larger desk space, more sturdy, and a handly little pull-out extra (I can see myself putting books on it and stuff for Uni). The thing you can see extruding from it pulls out about a metre or so.
Not assembling until I move in in September, so no pictures yet. Very much looking forward to it, though! The thing was rock solid, very pleased
Could anyone recommend a nice chair? I was thinking of this: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20196812/#/20196812 but I'm not sure I have the money left :v:. Something similar to that for a little less would be great, especially if you've used it and know what it's like
Cheers
I thought exactly the same thing but they're sturdy as fuck as long as you put it together well. I'm pretty sure I might have put something together wrong (fuck) but it hasn't does any crazy shit and I'm using V legs.

A legs. I called it V because they're more similar to V's then A's.
Is that a 32" monitor/ TV if so what model is it? I'm looking into getting a 32" inch but I need to find a 1920x1080 60hz +.
Yet another switcharoo on my desk, there is a PS2 and a Wii hidden somewhere behind it all.

It is a 37" LG TV @ 1920 x 1080 60Hz, I wouldnt choose any bigger TV for sitting that close to. I got it for £400 about 2 years ago, this is the newer model of it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-37LS5600-37-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B007IYVYS8/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
why does everyone else have such nice desks
32 really is about the biggest I'D go to be honest. It's not that bad but 37" just seems obnoxious to sit that close to.
why does everyone else have such nice desks
Because we shop at IKEA

I used to have a 40" HDTV 1920x1080 as my main monitor. For desktop usage and work it was too big, yes. But playing fps games on it was awesome due to the fact that the size of Gordon Freeman's hands was equal to your own.

I used a 37" for a while too and it was pretty fun, especially for games, although once the novelty wore off it wasn't very practical for everyday, I'd consider 27-30" to be the biggest without being too big for a monitor.
While we're on topic of monitors though, why is it that the resolution on monitors/televisions are progressing so slowly when smartphones/tablets already have almost triple the DPI of a normal monitor and are getting even better? If we can have 1280x720 in a 4.3" display then why don't we have UHD in 24" monitors?

Cause they are focusing on tablet and portable technology, Once that fad dies then we will see far higher then 1080p res

300 DPI in a phone is already ridiculous, resolution is just a selling point now like megapixels in cameras, as soon as you're not able to see the pixels from a practical distance from your face, why do we need more? What we really need in phones is a matte screen that retains the colour and fidelity of glossy so our phones don't double as mirrors outside.

My desktop was replaced with my laptop because I never used it fully and I'll be using my laptop for college so I didn't want to deal with two computers.

sorry, i practically live in the unfinished basement, and there's a single light bulb in here because there's wiring, but no light fixtures.

I need to clean up and do a video on mine this week. I get a message every couple days of people asking. But because so much of my life revolves around the computer I have all my stuff on my desk.
