My 360 bricked the day this was announced, have yet to get it fixed :frown:
To be honest I sort of like console gaming >_>
Atleast you know it can't fail, it cant get a RroD! [sp] because they removed the lights so you cant tell[/sp] :suicide: Although I wont ruin it for you, getting a new toy like that feels great.
You don't get the rrod anymore. But you get the reod. Red Eye of Death
The new slim reminds me a lot of the old Xbox.
Im sorry but youre a dipshit $5 HDMI cables are the same "quality" as $100 cables due to the fact there digital... and not analog.
You're astoundingly off the mark. The $5 ones are cheaper but will very quickly break/stop functioning due to them being mass-produced in a chinese shithole by children for 50p instead of a proper mechanical factory line with quality standards.

And when was the last time you actually moved your HDMI cable? You just plug it into the back of the TV and let it sit there it's whole life. Now I got a $7 HDMI cable from Frys (something like 7 or 8 feet). It's been over 6 months of almost constant usage, and nothing's happened to it. So let's say it breaks tomorrow. It just all of a sudden stops working for no reason at all. I go buy another one, it lasts me for 6 months. Now let's take this equivalent Monster HDMI cable. It's priced at $230. Let's say it lasts me one decade, a good 10 years (unlikely you will use it for this long as standards change quickly, most monitors are probably going to be displayport in a few years) Going through 10 years worth of 6-month-lasting HDMI cables, I pay $140. And that's only if my wire decides to mysteriously die for no reason at all every 6 months. I'm sure my cable will be able to last for at least a year or two hopefully more, so that would be under $70. Over a period of a decade. And quality with the "shitty" $5 cables doesn't matter, because 1s are 1s and 0s are 0s. Ex - (blu-ray player) 01001001011100100 -> $5 cable -> (TV) 01001001011100100 (blu-ray player) 01001001011100100 -> $230 Monster cable -> (TV) 01001001011100100

It doesn't move? it sits there. I've had it for years. Also, congrats on the guy who successfully trolled a handful of people with his $5 vs $100 cable post. Hat off to you.
I have 2 $4 cables, I have had one of them for over a year -with alot of movement- and not a single issue with either one.
My first HDMI cable had its connector ripped off, and it supposed value was $120(came free with my 42" TV) I replaced it with a cheap cable and it's worked fine ever since.
The "buttons" aren't actual push buttons, they're those capacitive touch buttons like on the older PS3's.
Ok, but I can play Gears of War on my PC and Fable on my old Xbox. Isn't Crackdown a shitty game? I have no interests in completing the GoW series either, the first game was shit. [editline]03:32AM[/editline] [editline]03:34AM[/editline] The hard drive size is the sole contributing factor to how much consoles cost. That's why I said that because I don't have an Xbox 360 anymore.
A 250GB is an extra 50 bucks.
A 250GB is an extra 50 bucks.
No, you're paying an extra $100 for a 120GB HDD (Arcade > Elite) and then another $50 extra for a 250GB HDD (Elite > Slim).
The new xbox shell looks AWESOME. I'm fine with my Xbox 360 CoD 6 Edition :smug:
Too bad the power brick is still massive. Whatever. Small price to pay for a new toy, right? Have fun with it.
Too bad the power brick is still massive. Whatever. Small price to pay for a new toy, right? Have fun with it.
The Ps3's power supply is larger but inside the Ps3, the Xbox has heat problems so they opted to keep the power supply outside instead of making more problems. Also they wanted to keep the size down apparently they had some lawsuits from the first Xbox it would fall on people's kids and hurt them really bad because of the weight, they just wanted to avoid that the second time around
Well buying an actual hdd a 250gb is 50 bucks.
can you read? you're basically paying $150 for a 250GB hard drive
What
It's fucking true the articles are gone now it was posted a few years ago but I sear.
can you read? you're basically paying $150 for a 250GB hard drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874103161&cm_re=xbox_360_hard_drive-_-74-103-161-_-Product :colbert:
gee $30
Gee $20 more and I get a huge hard drive AND a working console.
Gee $20 more and I get a huge hard drive AND a working console.
what
gee $30
what.
what.
I said you're paying basically $150 extra from an Xbox 360 Arcade to the Slim for a 250GB hard drive that you don't even need. You link to the hard drive, it costs $120. $120 + $30 = $150. "gee $30" means "gee I was $30 off".

I could have just bought a new console, but it'd be just like my old one except with no hard drive. I'd just have to pay $130 + shipping for a hard drive for it because I'd rather have 250 GB than 20 GB. But wait! $20 more and I can get the newest console with built in wireless, a new controller, and headset, which comes to about ($90+$40+$20) $150 on its own. I didn't have a good hard drive or wireless for my old one and I needed to replace the console anyway, I'm not switching now and I'll just lose money selling my old games. I also needed to replace one of the controllers my friend beat the shit out of a long time ago.
I'm about to go out and buy one myself, my old original 2005 model is running decently, but i really want wireless internet on it and an hdmi port. And if i went to go get the adapters, it'd run me about 160$ and i wouldn't get as nearly as good quality. Plus this way,i can give my brother in college the old one and we can play together.

[editline]02:55AM[/editline] also the whole point is for someone that owns no Xbox to buy one, not from your point of view, idiot.
obviously you are incapable of seeing my point so whatever, continue your ignorant money wasting to get a nice shiny black paintjob and a 250GB hard drive that you'll never even use a quarter of.
Its filling fairly quickly actually (its called DLC, music, and movies), and mysteryman made another good point, now I have HDMI to enjoy the power of. I don't know what point you're trying to make other than trying to talk down the Xbox in any way you can. The ideal would be to have BOTH and then nobody bitches about either one. Other than calling me an idiot, I'm not seeing what you're trying to get at here.
