$5 HDMI cables are pieces of shit, $100+ is where the "quality" is at.
I'm not sure you understand how digital signal cables work. If you are an uninformed consumer, don't buy things.
obviously you are incapable of seeing my point so whatever, continue your ignorant money wasting to get a nice shiny black paintjob and a 250GB hard drive that you'll never even use a quarter of. [editline]02:55AM[/editline] also the whole point is for someone that owns no Xbox to buy one, not from your point of view, idiot.
You're failing in so many ways. There is so much downloadable content on xbox live it's not even funny. Here's games on demand http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/games/catalog.aspx?d=5 Here's the link to xbox live home so you can get educated http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/default.htm I don't think you read his post he saved about $150 by his figures by buying the new console. He didn't buy it for it's paint job. Like you did with your PS3 their are for more exclusives for the Xbox and more content on the marketplace then on the PS3 you should have got that Xbox fixed. [editline]05:27AM[/editline]
Yeah I actually own about 30 or so games for it. And no, it's not a much better product. You're still playing the same games with the same controller, but the catch is that it costs a premium. [editline]03:22AM[/editline] Name some Xbox exclusives I'm missing, and I actually like the feel of the Xbox 360 controller more. If I could I would use it with my PS3.
Name some? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_exclusives_(seventh_generation)
"Oh lets play Ghostbusters on the PS3. Wait, what's all that blur? Jesus christ this is irritating! This is worse than the Playstation!" Give an excuse for that, Odellus.
Personally I think the new xbox looks ugly
:colbert:
Yeah well basically I think he means the heat sensitive patches. [editline]12:27PM[/editline] Perhaps the white paintjob would be a better option as black paint absorbs heat and will make it fuck up :smug:
Did you get a 1 month's Xbox Live gold subscription with it?
You are all acting like a bunch of children arguing about which Transformer is the best. Console wars are only for 13 year old's who are never right in the real world so they come bitch about the other console on the internet. Shit's getting old.
I don't think you read his post he saved about $150 by his figures by buying the new console. He didn't buy it for it's paint job. How do you know he bought a PS3 for the "paintjob"? Also, unless you for some reason do not already own a 360, or your old one broke out of warranty I can't see any reason to buy this. Since it's $300 and if you are operating on the motive that you need more space, a 250GB HDD is under half that cost of a new 360. As far as wifi is concerned, what gamer uses wifi? I've got Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N router and 30mbit cable internet and still get a subpar conenction compared to running it hardwired. Personally I think that Microsoft is advertising this as the console prepared for the future when it is just a rehashed product to help milk more money out of the consumers, making them think that they need/should buy the same product they already own for a second time. I know it's standard practice for all the console makers to do this, 3/4 way through the consoles life they release an updated version with a few new bells and whistles but I feel that buying into it can be ridiculous at times.
Whats so slim about this new Xbox? Looks the same to me. PS I've never owned a 360.
Name some Xbox exclusives I'm missing, and I actually like the feel of the Xbox 360 controller more. If I could I would use it with my PS3.
I know I'm responding to a post that is a page ago, but Mad Catz are releasing an Xbox shaped controller for the PS3. It should be nice. At least nicer to hold. Big hands + PS3 controller is always a problem for me. [editline]12:50PM[/editline]
Personally I think that Microsoft is advertising this as the console prepared for the future when it is just a rehashed product to help milk more money out of the consumers, making them think that they need/should buy the same product they already own for a second time.
The problem is, people will buy it regardless of the fact that they have a working Xbox. People feel the need to buy everything new and updated as a demonstration of superiority. What really bothers me is exactly what you said, there is literally no difference between this Xbox and one from two years ago. At least Sony released a PS3 Slim (which is significantly different enough from a regular PS3 to garner a release, although the difference only really applies to new customers).
What really bothers me is exactly what you said, there is literally no difference between this Xbox and one from two years ago.
You mean literally no difference between this Xbox and one from five years ago. Besides revisions to make it less prone to failure and additions to HDD space they have the same gaming capacity. That's insane. Also Microsoft is planning to keep the xbox 360 going till 2015, before they release a new console, that is insane. Think of five years from now, five years ago Farcry was cutting edge graphics, think of how far PC gaming will have advanced in the next five years while consoles stay overall the same.

That game had one of the worst demos I had ever played, game sucked dick from the start so I knew not to waste my money on it.

If you have a pc why would you buy something worth $300 when you can the the same functionality from this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135205 $59 plus shipping? Also just because you don't use the wireless nor the harddrive space doesn't mean he wont
because that wasn't out four years ago [editline]01:57PM[/editline] and yeah I'm going to insult someone's intelligence when they do something stupid, deal with it.

You get a free console in buying that, you'd have to be stupid not to buy it. I don't understand how an internet connection that uses about 30% of the routers throughput could be having any trouble. I run on wireless G on a linksys WRT54G and I'm 2 stories up getting 54Mbps I get 50ms across the country and 9.83Mb/s which is exactly what is being paid for. The same thing happened with dvd players and dvd drives when they were new. You could have saved yourself a lot of money just by remembering a trend.
Think of five years from now, five years ago Farcry was cutting edge graphics, think of how far PC gaming will have advanced in the next five years while consoles stay overall the same.
my dad and I cried at farcry when we played it, it was amazing. and I cant wait for pc gaming to advance, hopefully fanboys will shutup about "how superior their console gaming looks" compared to a PC (which is already bullshit).

That xbox looks fucking awesome mate ;)
Still doesn't mean worse audio/video quality.
Obviously not. I mean it really depends on your preference. If you don't mind having to replace it every six months or so, Go for the $5 ones. I doubt $100 ones would last longer anyway. It's just build quality. Not video.
traded my old one in for it. paid $117 with tax.
thats what happens when you move machinery around whilst its operating
The real problem is that Microsoft doesn't do jack shit to fix the problem. Shit happens, someone can nudge the console on accident. PS3 and Wii don't have this issue, why doesn't Microsoft get their heads out of their asses and fix it?
traded my old one in for it. paid $117 with tax.
Why? I'm not being a dick here, it's a serious question. What reasoning brought you to the conclusion that it would be worth spending $117 on essentially a new case and a wireless adapter?
Gee $20 more and I get a huge hard drive AND a working console.
is this tongue in cheek? because the 360 has to go down in history as the most poorly constructed/designed console in the last 15 years. [editline]12:00AM[/editline] or are you saying that you get a newer, slimmer, shinier model that thus far has no problems (haven't heard of them breaking down but haven't been looking)
I'm glad to see a 360 re-design. It looks like they finally got it right. It should have launched with those features to begin with. I am disappointed with the PS3 slim, since they killed off any hopes of better PS2 support, and disabled OtherOS... which means no PS3 Linux for slim users. I have owned two 360's, and both have died (3-light ring of death, and a 1 light ring of death). Fucking LAME. My Phat PS3 is still going strong, but I want a 360 slim now that it's out. (I love both consoles, just sad that my PS3 out-lasted two 360's.)
waitwaitwait how did the slim PS3 kill off hopes of better PS2 support? in time, perhaps a year or two when the PS2 finally gets discontinued as the development and sale of games is/are dropping, Sony will finally put that PS2 emulation software patent to use. why else would they patent emulation software? it's not like Microsoft or Nintendo are ever going to dare PS2 emulation while the PlayStation IP still exists. did i miss something? i know it doesn't have it, a lot of models don't have it, no one really knows what makes Sony think a model should have PS2 playback, because in 2 or 3 SKUs the compatibility is software, not hardware. [editline]01:34AM[/editline] sorry don't mean to get the thread side tracked i'm just confused as to what the Slim has to do with PS2 emulation.
Yeah uh the PS2 has been pretty much discontinued man. No games are made and i doubt new models are very common either.
The real problem is that Microsoft doesn't do jack shit to fix the problem. Shit happens, someone can nudge the console on accident. PS3 and Wii don't have this issue, why doesn't Microsoft get their heads out of their asses and fix it?
They still make a profit on system sales even when they have to supply refurbished or new Xbox 360s to their customers. In their minds, it's "why fix a system when it still brings in money?"
Why? I'm not being a dick here, it's a serious question. What reasoning brought you to the conclusion that it would be worth spending $117 on essentially a new case and a wireless adapter?
better hardware less chanced of failure
Too bad the power brick is still massive. Whatever. Small price to pay for a new toy, right? Have fun with it.
It's really going to ruin the experience when that cable is on the floor behind his desk where you can't see it anyways.
