boo fucking hoo a $5 cable
You have to buy the "special" cord that is Xbox branded. It's $40. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360hdmiavcable/ [editline]09:40AM[/editline] I'm going to have to be honest, the Elite looks a lot better than this. This is just another fingerprint magnet.
hahaha Sorry but no one cares that you got a new Xbox 360. It's the same thing with a bigger hard drive for no reason. I've had my 80GB PS3 for almost four years and I still have over 60GB free. [editline]03:15AM[/editline] Don't even know about my Xbox 360 because it died two years after I got it and I never bothered sending it in.
The big advantage of a big hard drive is that you can install your games to it to improve performance and load times, as well as silence the system even further. And of course you can have all the DLC you could ever care to get. [editline]04:58PM[/editline]
It's really going to ruin the experience when that cable is on the floor behind his desk where you can't see it anyways.
It really destroys portability when the power adapter is heavier than the console itself. I really like how lightweight the PS3 is, you don't even have an adapter, it's just the power cable. [editline]05:07PM[/editline]
You mean literally no difference between this Xbox and one from five years ago. Besides revisions to make it less prone to failure and additions to HDD space they have the same gaming capacity. That's insane. Also Microsoft is planning to keep the xbox 360 going till 2015, before they release a new console, that is insane.
I have an early Xbox, there's quite enough differences for me to consider upgrading. HDMI, power efficiency, size, did I hear something about improved performance too? It's quiet and it comes with an otherwise ridiculously expensive 250GB drive all for exactly the same price as any other new Xbox. And the design is pretty damn sexy.
Yeah because I'd rather lug around an external one in addition to the power brick.
It really destroys portability when the power adapter is heavier than the console itself. I really like how lightweight the PS3 is, you don't even have an adapter, it's just the power cable.
I agree with that, it seems to show a sloppy inefficient design on Microsoft's part, since there is no reason why it has to have the brick the way it does. The PlayStation manages fine without one, why couldn't the 360?
PS3 uses normal 2.5" laptop HDDs.
And you can exchange them whenever you want! Unless you have a PS3 slim (although usually you have more than enough space anyway). Also there is no denying that the Playstation is a better built system. Sony is a hardware company. The PS3 is has an overall better design (which is also why it cost so much to begin with). Microsoft is a software company and that's why Live still has way better implementation than PSN (albeit at a cost).
I remember the "smash my PS3" thing, it was funny how the Wii pretty much disintegrated before they even got to the hammer, the Xbox didn't last long, but the sledgehammer didn't last long against the PS3. :v:
I would rather just buy Kinect and whatever you need for it then buy a new Xbox 360. I think it's just a waste of money, but that's my opinion. Have fun with it though.
God damn, that's one sexy machine.
Also, older PS3s don't have OtherOS anymore either unless you haven't updated. It's pretty much a gimmick anyway, since performance is pretty horrible in anything you can install. I haven't updated yet because I rarely use my PS3, but there's not much of a point in staying on an older version unless the PS3 in question is part of the US Air Force's Linux cluster. For the record, I own an older 40 GB model and it's my only "next-gen" console. I don't plan on buying a 360, ever. I'm just saying this from the point of view of someone that reads up on everything he can.
I have an older PS3 40GB too, and I am waiting for GeoHot to make a custom firmware so I can update to the latest firmware with OtherOS still in tact. I'm currently still running on 3.15, because GeoHot said not to upgrade yet. Update 3.21 did NOTHING other than disable OtherOS, and I'm not giving up my PS3 Linux. It's partially the reason I bought the PS3.
Yeah uh the PS2 has been pretty much discontinued man. No games are made and i doubt new models are very common either.
my eyes must be fucking crazy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Video-Games/PlayStation-2-PS2/abcat0704000.c?id=abcat0704000 [editline]11:23PM[/editline]
And you can exchange them whenever you want! Unless you have a PS3 slim (although usually you have more than enough space anyway).
the slimmer PS3s use the same kind of hard drive, what are you on about [editline]11:24PM[/editline]
You have to buy the "special" cord that is Xbox branded. My friend bought his first XBox and it's this one, so far he loves it.
Why? I'm not being a dick here, it's a serious question. What reasoning brought you to the conclusion that it would be worth spending $117 on essentially a new case and a wireless adapter?
Yeah my friend bought one of these even though he still had a perfectly functioning Xbox, he said that it was because it was because of the Hard Drive and the Wireless Adapter built in, so he wouldn't have to buy them separately I thought that it seemed like a waste of money, but I didn't say anything, because I tend to spend my cash on stupid shit for my PC all the time. [editline]03:01AM[/editline] He also got it because it looked "sexy".
While its running a game, shake the console a bit and let us know if it rapes the disc.
Most people who buy HD tvs usually have hdmi cables with them. My monitor came with one, and newegg even gave me a 2nd one.
HDTVs do not come with HDMI cables, in fact you're lucky to get any more than a composite video cable (one RCA cable)
While its running a game, shake the console a bit and let us know if it rapes the disc.
Of course it does. Why shouldn't it, try doing it with your computer, you will get the same result. Only stupid people move their consoles while a disc is moving
$5 HDMI cables are pieces of shit, $100+ is where the "quality" is at.
People rating dumb have no concept of sarcasm. EDIT: I understand no HDMI, but not even a component cable? That's weak.
So whats so good about this xbox? It's black? Can it still play xbox 360 games?
