Well not necessarily little, I have this huge wooden desk-type thing, with a little carved out box under the keyboard and whatnot, that fits my router and the likes. However if you advise against it..

cases have a bunch of little holes called vents for a reason
I have 2 470's in SLI, and they're not "VERY" loud at least.. BUT i don't care that they get a bit loud when i'm gaming because i'm too busy listening to my stereo for spy's (tf2 players will get this)
