Apple: The company on the edge of revolution, or downfall?

Make up your mind.
I've had an iPhone and now own the iPad. I get why people call it a larger iPhone but it's simply not. Although the they're both pretty alike it's honestly different the way you use them. The best example I can come up with is when I had an iPhone I rarely used the actual phone because it was awful, instead I used it for playing videos, songs and the occasional game. Because of this I traded my iPhone in and bought an iPad which is MUCH more suited for what my uses were - I now have a nice big, but mobile screen to watch my videos on, games are more fun with the extra space, there are also a lot of useful apps out there that utilize the space nicer than the iPhone versions and all this goes without mentioning how awesome browsing the web on the iPad is compared to the iPhone.
The difference of the devices is in the usage.
It's not the second coming of Jesus but it's how they market things (and it works, for idiots) and it's honestly not a big deal if you ignore it and take your time to look into the devices.

I get that it's useful for many things that the iPhone is not, but that wasn't the point, it was their marketing (and I do realize that my first post was flawed, but I already explained that).
So let's just let it rest eh
Apple was on the brink of bankruptcy before he came back. What did he bring with him? The Ipod.
He also gave them NeXTSTEP, which evolved into OSX, and iTunes. IMO, they're gonna be boned after he leaves, and the investors know it. Even if the iPad is the next iPod, what comes next? They'll be in the same place that microsoft is, at the top, with only one way to go, down.

Ehh.. NeXTSTEP was in development already in the early '90's, and was afaik bought buy Apple. Steve Jobs hardly had anything to do with it.

I love my iPad. I still have my iPod Touch for music but the iPad makes everything better, especially the games which annoyed me so much on a tiny screen. I also use Pages which helps a lot when I'm at school, I can just type up something and when I get home I can send it to my email or to iTunes (as a Word document). The librarian saw my friend and I using our iPads and was talking to us about the possibility of getting an AirPrint printer to let us print from our iPads which would be fucking awesome.
Even though most people I know are praising Apple and mac computers, none of them have any idea of who the hell Steve Jobs is. If he dies, I doubt any of those will notice.
It's not the fact that people do or do not know who he is, it's that pretty much every good thing that has come out of Apple, was conceived in Steve's head.

Of all my friends that I've seen use an iPad, they use it in the same way they use their iPod touch or iPhone. Fuck with it for a few minutes, then set that shit down. They don't really get anything done, but I can see where they have the potential to. IMO the iPad would be best suited for college students, as I plan on getting an iPad, Kindle, or an netbook in the Fall when I leave for ODU.
As long as they stop those god awful advertisements when he goes, they should be fine.
