and he probably doesn't even need a new PSU for a 4650, he'd be better with a 4850 if you're going to upgrade PSU because right now he's getting even less than the combo he was orignally going with
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031 is better is pretty much very way for the same price [editline]03:41AM[/editline] or cheaper with MIR
Good catch. I didn't think those would be on sale.
Not necessarily. Your major concern is getting a graphics card. You might want to take that chart with a grain of salt. L4D2 will probably be optimized to run better on multiple cores. Now, along with a graphics card you might want to get a new PSU, however, the card I suggested would probably run with the PSU you currently have. I'd still suggest getting a new one for future upgrades. [editline]09:04PM[/editline] Yep. Looking at the reviews most people are getting them for lower end computers, many with about 250-300 watts on their PSU.
get the 4670 and 6000+ it will do much better for you
So what are the definite parts that I should buy thats around $150?
You should also remember to turn on multi core rendering on in left 4 dead that should help your frame rates a bit.
Actually, at least for me, a lot.
the combo I posted, your current cpu will work but the 6000+ will work better with games than a quad
6000+ and 4670. [editline]02:52PM[/editline] you do NOT need a new PSU
This combo deal looked good is it able to work with l4d2?http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.270531.
