I am visiting London now and everything (bus stops, museums, advertisment boards) is NFC enabled. Have any of you used it before? Seems like an awesome idea, you can just use your phone to get info about everything
someone play battlefield 3 with meeeee
I would if I could.
Depends what 570 it is, but it's possible.
It's a reference Gigabyte GTX570.
Any tips of OCing?

1) I don't have BF3
and
2) I'm at work right now

don't fuck with voltages unless you know what you're doing
Cool, having one of those days where the power keeps flickering on and off.
I'm typing this while my computer is on UPS backup power.
Solid work, suburban power company.

It's meant to do that, at about 50-60Hz

Oh god I'm bad at joke

My lawyers will be in contact with you
So it turns out it was my GTX570 and not my power supply that had died (or even both, by some chance)
:I
another week of waiting yay

Even then AC doesn't turn on and off at 60hz. It changes polarity at 60hz.

I know I know.

This took hourrrrsssss but it was pretty fun to make
Aside from leaving a loose screw in the lower part of the laptop (which I had to take the keyboard and touchpad off to remove), ASUS refurbished somehow forgot the screws to fasten down my hard drive and just left it like that
And there were screws in random holes that weren't supposed to have screws
:I
God damnit ASUS do you let 8-year olds with a parts bin refurbish laptops or something

50hz master race
Actually, there is a point every 1/50 times a second when the voltage is zero.

Apparently, because now my subwoofer is going out. It works fine sometimes, but other times it will flicker on and off and most of the time it just does not work.

Take out the magnet and go around and steal metal things from the other side of the room
Holy fucking shit. AMD's graphics drivers are total shit.
Can't support display scaling on VGA? Then how the fuck does NVIDIA supports that?
God, I seriously wish I hadn't bought this 6850... the card is perfect, but drivers are total shit.

It's not that powerful. The subwoofer is smaller than some tweeters I've seen.
In other news, I managed to get another monitor at work today. So now I'm working on dual 1920x1080 monitors and a 1280x1024 monitor.
It's pretty balling. I can have Komodo, Chrome (for email), PuTTY, Notepad++, Google Chat, and WMP open and visible, all at the same time. Only problem is a) the pixel density is ALL OVER the place, and b) I keep losing track of where my mouse pointer is.

Even my giant JBL can't move stuff through a wall. It can fuck up a CRT monitor from across the room though

Why are you still using VGA a connector from 1987.
DVI is there since 1999.
And btw amds drivers are not shit ive run into no problems with my HD7950.

I have an awesome 1080p monitor that's VGA only. Why fix it if it ain't broke?
Ugh, AMDs drivers are shit.

Wouldn't it work if you used a vga -> dvi connector?
I'm still on VGA :saddowns:
Wouldn't it work if you used a vga -> dvi connector?
I'm using a DVI -> VGA as the 6850 has no VGA ports. What do you mean by VGA -> DVI? Monitor has no DVI inputs.
Even my 20" iiyama is VGA only.
MERGE

I actually meant DVI -> VGA, woops.
Today, a local brought me his computer to be cleaned out, both in software and hardware terms.
It's a prebuilt Dell, Pentium 4 HT with massive heatsink, BTX case.
It's going to be a nightmare to even open that thing.
