1080p isn't really a size though? 24" or something? I wish I had three monitors. You get used to size quickly.
Correct it's a ASUS VS248H-P it fucking dwarfs my HP w1907. The only problem I have with it is the tilt angle, it doesn't go down far enough so i had to raise my chair a little bit.
I require a wireless headset (because wires suck). I'm thinking I might get this one if I can get up the $80 in time, since it's bluetooth so I can use it on my PS3 as well: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104622 If I can't catch it on sale, I'll probably get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104624 Unless someone has other recommendations? (Budget is $80).

I was recommended Advanced SystemCare by a friend, but apparently they stole from Malwarebytes?
IObit stole MBAM virus definitions too, I wonder how many others still do. Tell your friend to buy MBAM instead of funding these tards.
no learn to deal with wires unless you want ipod earbud quality sound, interference and commonly bad build quality
Well then, know any good wired headsets?
Well then, know any good wired headsets?
nope
Well then, know any good wired headsets?
decent headphones (there's an entire thread on those) and a modmic
Is 10 MB/sec write speed normal on a USB drive? I don't imagine I'd need anymore than that but I at least want to make sure.
Is 10 MB/sec write speed normal on a USB drive? I don't imagine I'd need anymore than that but I at least want to make sure.
It's about average.
You know, multitouch trackpad gestures is something that Macs have done well consistently. Most trackpads with gestures on Windows computers I've used were absolutely awful (as it is kind of dependent on the manufacturer), but all of Apple's are actually really good. Is there any software for Windows that makes the trackpad gestures better on laptops from manufacturers that have awful drivers? Or are there any manufacturers that do their gesture software particularly well?
The multitouch software on my Asus constantly shits out and I have to reinstall the drivers every other week, it's stupid
I hate to say that the only trackpad I've ever liked is the Mac trackpads. I've used Dell, HP, and Lenovo trackpads, and they all seem to have annoying little quirks.
Oh god, I hate the nubs with a passion.

Can't resist waving my e-penis around for a sec. The second one came in the mail today. [t]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h69/Bladeboy311/2012-08-14_23-23-01_313.jpg[/t] Now the question is... do I open them or do I hold off and sell them both for a fortune in 5 years?

I tried ordering that exact model. It took four weeks before they had them in stock (note that they were listed as in-stock when I ordered). And then they noticed that the G55 apparently doesn't have the dual hard drive bays they originally claimed, and had to switch my order to the G75 (the 17" version, which took another six weeks to get shipped, and three hours to die completely). It took another month to get fixed, and another month or so before *another* part started failing. On top of the shit reliability and abysmal customer service, they're heavy and bulky. Very powerful, yes, but often a full pound heavier than equal-specced competition.

Newegg's refurbished laptop section has some nice stuff in it every once and a while... I was browsing through today and found this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834200599 2.6 GHz Core 2 Duo 2GB DDR2 120GB 7200RPM HDD NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M (Crysis on medium at ~32 FPS) 17" 1920x1200 LCD For... $266 What. Besides it weighing 8.8 pounds and it having a few scuffs from regular use, that's a pretty fucking good deal.
Did you just get a Nexus S for the ~Google experience~? Because specs wise it is nearly identical to SGS 1
Nope. I borrowed the SGS from my dad while the Nexus was in the mail. Half of the problems with the SGS was his fault, he fucked up that thing so badly, the other half was just age. Thankfully the Nexus was completely stock, barely touched.
the other half was just age.
they don't make them like they used to. I had a Treo 680 that lasted since my relative had it (and she probably got it around 06 or early 07). It was in perfect condition (except maybe some color fading on the plastic) when I got it. The damn thing then proceeded to get the shit beat out of it from being in my front pocket during various tackles, punches, and the other kinds of physical shit me and my friends get up to. Antenna connection came a little loose when it started to split at the top towards the very end (which was fixed by holding it together with electrical tape), but otherwise that thing could have been the only survivor of a nuclear attack barring any Nokia phones, and if I knew where it was and actually kept the damn thing charged it'd probably work almost as well as it did on launch. So seeing a phone going bad from "just age", even if it's not the only factor, makes me very sad. [editline]14th August 2012[/editline] well it wouldn't take calls and texts these days anymore, since the SIM that lives in it probably got moved to my Skyrocket but still
Wouldn't be cost effective to make them last, moore's law and capitalism and all that.
So I've finished my mini itx build (will post build log later), and it seems I've lost a jumper pin. Not just any old one either. The chassis intrusion one. Can't even get past post. Shall search for it today!
Now the question is... do I open them or do I hold off and sell them both for a fortune in 5 years?
This isn't something that will have a price inflation on anytime soon, so open it.

It's completely device specific in how well they are designed. FYI, Bluetooth also operates within the 2.4ghz band.
