I love this guy, it's almost like he knows what quantum computing is about
People are fucking retarded, It's like they've never even heard of Shor's algorithm before.
The worst part is the use for this is just going to be to destroy our security and people keep blindly supporting it because "omg has quantum in the name".
I'm a goddamn quantum computing enthusiast, I can factorize numbers using Shor's algorithm from heart (Admittedly slow but I know what I'm doing).
I just low how their only real argument is "People said that about computers and jet engines!!". Saying Quantum computers will be used in commercial purposes is like saying Jet Engines will be used in cars.
And you just accepted it even though that clearly is not what you ordered?
Yeah, well... Its doing a great job and it's speedy. :V:
For those people going on about samsung drives with seagate labels on them, samsungs HDD sector got bought by seagate.
I think i should rather buy XSPC Rasa 450 RS120 and get another RS120 rad.
for my HD7950
Do you think the pump can handle that?
Pump XSPC X20 450 12v
Pump Flow Rate 450 L/ph
The Pump is build in a Reservoir.
Should I get a Nexus 7, or wait for Microsoft Surface (which apparently will cost 200$)?

To be perfectly honest, I had no idea what Shor's algorithm was.
And while quantum computing is almost never going to be a consumer product*, it would definitely be useful for non-cryptographic purposes. It will probably fill niches similar to FPGA supercomputers - expensive and single-purpose, but powerful at one or two tasks.

Shor's algorithm is messy but it's the fundamental law of quantum computing, if you will. It's used for factorizing numbers and pretty damned important. It's severely limited and slow for everything but cryptography.

Microsoft would have to subsidize the shit out of the surface to get the price at $200. The 8GB Nexus 7 costs almost exactly $200 to make, so Google is losing money on that particular model. The surface is made out of magnesium, has a 10" screen and 32GB of storage. In comparison, the $200 Nexus 7 is made out of plastic (With a rubber-ish coating on the back), has a 7" screen and 8GB of storage.
The safer bet would be to get a Nexus 7. Android has been around for a lot longer, so there's more applications. Windows 8 is still new, so it will take a while to catch up.
Also Microsoft has tried like 500 trillion times to make decent mobile devices. As much as the Surface excites me I don't see it doing well.

That pump is fine, but it's pretty bad comparing to what other options are available.
After seeing this

I now want to put an amp meter on my diagnostic PCs 4 pin CPU power lead.

It might work if they make it easy to port things over and the price really ends up being $200 but they still will have an uphill battle.

It's pretty obvious that it would be sold at loss, but it will do wonders to create Windows tablets a market share.
And considering the amount of tablet apps on Android, it's not exactly a huge advantage over Windows 8.
So yeah. I'm kinda leaning towards the Nexus right now, but the lack of RAM (if you're around in the Android thread, you can see me whining about my browser killing tabs almost daily) is worrying me.

I seriously can't understand people who don't know of the concept of saving sessions, unless that's exactly what's going on and you just have so many tabs stored the device has to off some of them to get the browser back in memory.
I mean, am I the only person who shuts down their everything every once in a while?
(Well, my phone tends to do that for me, to be perfectly honest :v:)
Remember yesterday when I mentioned that my connection went kaput?
Turns out something fucked up and blacked out the FiOS state wide. Apparently if you unplug the emergency battery power thingus and give it a few minutes, it resets the connection (or some odd) and now my Internet works whoo
could go down again though

But the Nexus 7 has 1GB of RAM. There is only one tablet that I know of that has more and it's the Galaxy Note 10.1.

I close things as soon as I'm done with them. Like, fully close down, not just sweep under the rug or something.
Found what I Googled for? Close the Google tab. Done with the browser? Close it down completely.

It does save the tabs themselves, just not their content, and very often I would find it reloading the page when I re-open the browser.
I don't even have a lot of tabs open, it's usually like 5.

Give me a list of stuff i should get.
I got a Corsair 500r case
and an reference HD7950
It can be in Germany so i can just let it get delivered to someone i know.
Or free shiping to Norway.
And just the way Android does multitasking is kinda lame - the app switcher shows recent, not running apps, sliding them away in many cases does not close them, apps get killed in the background at will.
And nothing I do seems to change that :I

I gave you a wrench, that should fix it.

Basically Android apps that don't leave those notificationthings dangling, by default, stay in RAM for a short while in case you still want to use them, then sort of "hibernate" - that is, an app is expected to retain its state if it's important when closing down, so when you bring the app back up you won't lose what you had there.
The reloading of tabs is also pretty smart, considering the pages might have changed in the meantime. Of course, you should be able to disable it at will.

Am i the only one here who hasn't managed to accidentally smash a laptop screen?

Do you have a source for that? I haven't honestly seen any confirmed specs for either model.

Am I the only one who hasn't managed to smash a screen ever?
I just remembered, i did accidentally break a monitor by accidentally shooting it with a pistol made of K'nex.
I was 11 at the time.
[editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
It shot ball bearings nicked from ball mice.
My second monitor arrived today.
I don't know how I lived with just one.
