You sure the ssd is the size you think it is?
Apparently I get my GPU back the day I have to move out across the state to go to college :I

my record is 9 processes without disabling any services I got it down to 4 processes in NT 4.0 once
So a friend linked me this on Steam, saying it was too much, blah, blah http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1206987 Then this happened.
8:21 PM - : Enough meaning it's more than you could possibly use on a PC. And what do you mean not just for personal computers? They already mention the speeds datacenters use. 8:22 PM - Wingar ☭: best you're going to get in a DC is 100Gbit. 8:22 PM - Wingar ☭: Best you're going to get anywhere, ever. 8:22 PM - Wingar ☭: right now. 8:22 PM - Wingar ☭: Terrabit would be... fucking awesome. 8:22 PM - : My computer's LAN connection would run 100gbps if I had it LANed with anything. But even if I did, that speed is significantly more than I could possibly utilize even if I tried. 8:23 PM - Wingar ☭: uh 8:23 PM - Wingar ☭: No, it wouldn't get 100Gbit. 8:23 PM - Wingar ☭: since the average connector for 100Gbit costs more than your house. 8:24 PM - : Hm? 8:24 PM - Wingar ☭: you sure you're not getting confused with 100Mbit? 8:24 PM - Wingar ☭: 100Gbit is the kind of infrastructure for a country. 8:25 PM - : My computer's LAN port orwhatever you call it was labelled as a 1/10/100gbps connection. (Or maybe 10? I know for a fact it was gbps though but I was almost certain it was labelled 100.) 8:25 PM - Wingar ☭: 100Gbit doesn't even use standard CAT type cables anyway 8:25 PM - Wingar ☭: it's fiber. 8:26 PM - Wingar ☭: To put it into perspective, 100Gbit cards cost $192k per port. 8:26 PM - Wingar ☭: on average. 8:26 PM - Wingar ☭: there is no way you have that in your computer.
Uhm I don't even have a DataCentre and more than 100 Gbps at work.
Does the Imperator have the same sensor? I was considering a new mouse, and as I love the good old MX518's ergonomics, it caught my eye.
No it doesn't. You can get either an old DA if you want the exact sensor or a 3.5G DA which uses a modified version of the sensor. The Abyssus also uses the 3.5G sensor as well iirc.

Hey guys I have a rather strange question that one of you (if you have a spare machine) may be able to test. As most of you probably know when you put your system in hibernation mode it saves the contents of the RAM to the hard disk, and fully powers off the system. What would happen if you swapped out the RAM and powered on? I'd be interested to see some variety of results such as: -replacing the RAM with equal amounts of different brand RAM (eg. Replacing 4GB Corsair, with 4GB Kingston. -Replacing with more RAM (eg. Replacing 4GB of RAM with 8GB of RAM) -Replacing with less RAM (eg. Replacing 4GB of RAMwith only 2GB of RAM) Anyone think they could do this and post the results when powering the machine back on?
As long as it is the same amount of RAM, the PC won't care.
I'm going to give it a try in a moment with equal RAM. I can't test with the other 2 though.
Will work with equal (brand doesn't matter - RAM is RAM as far as the OS is concerned, although you might see some funny stuff if the timings or clock speed change), should work with greater unless some coder really fucked up (although you might not get access to the new stuff - just speaking hypothetically here). Less would be interesting. It might actually work, if it's smart enough to load it into swap instead of RAM. Which I doubt any OS actually does (who the hell hibernates, then takes out half their RAM?).
Well I had chance to try multiple settings. changing a 2GB 1600MHz stick (running at 1333Mhz) with a 1333Mhz stick (different brand) caused the system to completely refuse to boot. Upon swapping the sticks back and booting the system reported "your system failed to start the past couple of times, press F2 to enter bios, press enter to boot from a network or wait 5 seconds and windows will boot as normal. After doing that I shut down normally and swapped the RAM over again and it booted fine. I also tried taking a simple 2GB system, hibernating and then adding another 2GB stick (for a total of 4GB). The OS stated "The memory has changed since you last entered hibernation, shutdown your PC and restore the previous memory configuration to boot from the hibernation file. Else press enter to delete restoration data and boot fresh." Just from these 2 simple settings I think we get the idea of what any other possible settings would give off. [editline]22nd August 2012[/editline] What surprises me is that the system completely refused to boot under the first situation, it wouldn't even POST.
That's a bit odd, but not really inexplicable. They probably just saved a full, exact dump of the hardware configuration in the hiberfile, and refuse to boot if it's changed one iota. A conservative approach, but perhaps that's the best way to do things.
You sure the ssd is the size you think it is?
I'm absolutely sure, and device manager won't show an a SSD. I think I just got a DOA SSD without realizing it, and installed windows somewhere else.

Which port did you plug it into and did you activate said port?
so I'm bored inbetween classes at uni with nothing to do since homework doesn't start piling until next week decide to download CS:GO 2MB/s on free university wifi yeah I'm not arguing with that

Abit, nothing of value was lost.
That feel when you get Isopropyl in open cuts.
The comments on that video do have some truth to them:
An Apple user would think that's actually the* right way to do it.

Anyone want a copy of the CD that geek squad uses for their repairs?
I'm all for having more tools. Hiren's BootCD has been crappy for like four versions now, IMO.
Geek Squad is a bunch of scrubs, why would you want their shitty software?
