If I lived on my own, trust me I'd do one every week. But honestly, my family is the main reason I don't.
Just do it at 3am.

My mom sleeps out in the family room, which is connected to the kitchen.
And she's as loud as a bear when she's sleeping.

Strangle her.

this, I loved that video
Make that *two* bags of dicks, Verizon.
Just finished calling. They had to add my address to their system, and it mysteriously takes 24 hours for it to "enter" the system enough for me to actually *buy* it. So I have to call back tomorrow.

I hate it when the people on the other end assume I am illiterate. I can understand that they get stupid people all the time but after 5 minutes they still think I'm someone who doesn't know what he's doing.
At least one of the maintenance people of my ISP lives nearby so I can always talk to him.
Well I haven't been inside for very long lately, I've been sanding and restaining my uncle's two decks for the past week, it's pretty nice. I finished all the sanding yesterday and put the second coat of stain (The stuff I'm using needs three) on the first deck and most of the first coat on the other deck, though I ran out of stain.
It's great for powering through podcasts, though I'm all out. Bill Nye did a great interview on The Nerdist, if anyone is interested.
Oh, now what?
I decide, since I'm not getting reliable internet, I should try getting my desktops situated. The Mac boots fine, but when I fired up the Shitbox the BIOS showed a lower memory than it should have had (256MB instead of 512MB).
So I pop it open, notice one of the DIMMs was missing (I fiddled around with it while packing, might have forgotten a piece). There's three slots and the missing one was in the middle.
I pull out my box of miscellanea, and pull out my SDR DRAM sticks, as well as some interesting addon cards I thought I ought to add in.
So I cram in one of the unlabeled DIMMs (the only labeled ones are 64MB ones), take out one of the 10/100 NICs and swap for a SoundBlaster card and a four-port Firewire card (because why the fuck not?)
Doesn't show anything on BIOS. Screen shows a blank "No video signal" screen.
I figure it was a bad DIMM, take all out but one of the originals.
Nope.
I take out the new addon cards.
Nope.
Dead video card maybe? I swap the GeForce 2 out for a Rage 3D and some other unlabeled AGP card.
Nope and nope.
Faulty VGA port on the monitor?
Swap the cable over to my laptop, it works fine.
Swap out the DIMMs again, to the other original one. Then several others.
Nope. Nope. Nope. Aaaand... nope.
Pull out everything except the IDE drives, the video card (no integrated video), and one DIMM.
Nope.
Right now, I'm letting it sit, completely unplugged, while I type this. I've either run out of things I can try, or I've overlooked something incredibly stupid. Ideas?

Use the jumper to reset the BIOS settings.
Use the jumper to reset the BIOS settings.
I tried pulling the battery before, didn't seem to do anything. Just tried again.
Still not working. Although I'm not 100% sure I found the right jumper, as it's unlabeled and I never even *had* the manual for it.
There are two jumpers I found on the mobo. One is near the IDE ports and has a 100MHZ/33MHZ label, which I assume is to set the IDE bus speed (I fiddled with it, no noticeable effect).
The other is next to the CMOS battery. Changing its position rendered the machine dead. As in, it wouldn't even power on. I switched it back to how it was, and it went back to not working in the way it was not working before.
The machine *seems* to be working right, except for the video. It makes all the right sounds, the keyboard lights work right (even the capslock/numlock/scrolllock, which normally only work once it's hit the bootloader), and the power button works the weird way it normally does. But I can't see shit.
Logical conclusion: either dead video card(s), or fried AGP slot.
Any other ideas?
[editline]28th August 2012[/editline]
AHA!
Figured it out. The AGP port has some physical damage - the card can slide a bit out the back, making all the pins wrong. I must have nudged it while putting in the other cards, and I didn't even screw the replacement ones in.
One of the DIMMs was also bad, stops it from booting (or showing anything) as well. Between the two, it took forever to figure out.
So my porn collection is safe.

Classy Yahoo Answers.
The question was simply 6850 vs 550 Ti, so I answered the obvious (6850) and used sources to back up my answer.

"General Knowledge." Right. Made me cringe a little.
If anything, he's the fanboy, not me.
Awesome, I never thought I would be this lucky.
I ordered a Flirc a while ago and got one in the mail a couple of weeks ago. My mom got a box in the mail a few days ago and I wasn't expecting anything, so I told her to open it and tell me what it was.
Another Flirc. I checked PayPal and I was only charged for one, awesome. Now I can have one for the Raspberry Pi and another for my laptop with the shitty TV / second monitor in my bedroom. Yay.
Have you guys seen this?
My node is almost online and ready yay :D

They say its impossible to take down, but really you just get a wifi blocker out in the field and they're finished. Plus, for it to even work you have to rely on someone being near you with a meshnet node.

True but you don't necessarily need to use WiFi to run a node you can be wired networking
A Lot of people currently tunnel on the existing network/internet connection, I personalty am buying a lot of Linksys wrt54g Routers from goodwill and turning them into nodes, giving them out to people near by who are interested in the project.
I get em for like 4.99 each. Cheep nodes.
Looking for some Antennas that are low cost and will increase the range a bit
The default ones are rubber duck antennas. 2.14 Db

Even with wired its possible to take it down. With cables, you have to have a cable from every house running meshnet, running to your house, and the same for everyone else.
Going to take my A+ this month then go for my Net before the year ends
oh god; I coughed and a booger or smth. like that flew onto my screen.
I ain't coughing without putting a hand in front of my mouth anymore.
I also went for my books today and on the way back, my foot started to hurt real bad.

No, it means that I can't get up from my chair to do anything, so I am stuck in my seat and have nothing better to do than F5 all the pages all the time.
Also, Is there a reason why hiberefile doesn't delete itself when I start up the PC again? It loves to hog my 32GB partion with 3GB. I only have like 500MB free on it right now.

It's always there unless you disable hibernation, by running "powercfg /h off" and then it'll delete itself.
Should i use a screen protector on the Galaxy Nexus?
Ive used a HTC wildfire for over 2 years and it doesn't have any scratches.

It's pretty resistant to deep scratches but you won't avoid those tiny scratches that can be seen when you get the phone in the light.

i got those micro scratches which you can barely see unless you hold it close up to your face.
I also don't get how people can drop their phones.
My Moto Triumph has gorilla glass and also came with a pretty thick screen protector out of the factory on top of that as well. I tore off the protector within weeks and now, over a year later, I can't find a single scratch.

My Xperia Play's been dropped in the rain before and it works.
