that, annoyingly, looks incredibly nice
I'm totally installing this on my laptop and sticking an Apple-like Pear logo over the Dell badge
My CPU fan is faster than the speed of light, probably.

You're all jelly of my download speed.

assuming you have a 40mm fan, it's going half the speed of light.

Assuming an 80mm fan:
0.08 meters * 3.14159265 = 0.251327412 meters per revolution
4294967296 RPM * 0.251327412 m/rev = 1079443015 meters/minute
1079443015 / 60 secs/min = 17990717 m/s
17990717 m/s / 299792458 m/s (c) = 0.06 (or 6%) of the speed of light
120mm fan: 120 = 1.5*80 so the speed is 1.5* the 80mm result = 9% the speed of light

Care to show your work?
Don't forget to take time dilation into account.

The Lorentz factor at 0.1c is only 1.005.

Wow, you actually did, I was being sarcastic.
Wow, you actually did, I was being sarcastic.
I didn't, but you're right, it would have an effect. The actual speed was something like 0.06001c, so accounting for the factor would mean that the edges of the blades actually appear to be moving just under 6% c to an outside observer.
AMD’s Vishera and Trinity line up.
Like it does every year, AMD is going to be showing off some of its latest innovations around the same time as Intel’s Developer Forum (IDF) event. This will be in an effort to try and divert some of the journalists and media publications away from Intel towards AMD.
What are they going to be showing off? Well Vishera and Hondo are apparently on the menu. Vishera is Bulldozer’s successor, boasting better power efficiency, higher clock speeds and hopefully better performance at a clock per clock level.
Hondo is AMD’s special low power part, consuming just 4.5W peak TDP and 2W average. We don’t really know any specifications about this part but it will be very interesting indeed.
AMD will also show us some more of Trinity, but since Trinity has already been released and reviewed to the OEM market they probably won’t be able to show us anything we don’t already know. Trinity for consumers is expected in October.
why would you ruin your laptops with shitty stickers
why would you ruin your laptops with shitty stickers
Because its a shitty laptop wich I only use for school, and I get many apple fans to rage about it. (Wich is funny, because I own a macbook aswell)
And Bored user + sticker + laptop = laptop woth stickers
I only have 2 (4) stickers on my ThinkPad. One is that Energy Star bullshit on the lid, the other one is the ThinkPad logo (it's a sticker in a bezel) and the 2 "custom" ones can be seen on the following picture.
[t]http://localhostr.com/files/HJiSXui/IMG_20120627_162103.jpg[/t]
the only stickers that will ever be on any laptop of mine will be the ones on the palmrest that say like "intel"
I have my desktop plastered in stickers because I'm replacing that shitty thermaltake case anyway
This discussion reminds me that I need to order a Hak5 sticker for my new laptop.
Fairly sure that it would be hard to remove the old sticker from my old laptop, put it on my new laptop and still have it look good.
Preinstalled stickers are an asshole to get off.
You need to use a credit card to scrape it off and then probably use goo gone to get rid of the residue.
Speaking of stickers, I have the fastest cardreader ever.

And color stickers are too mainstream.
I think I need a "SPARC inside" sticker for my Acer craptop.
That would just about sum it up.
Closest I could find.
I saw a Children Inside sticker on a car while I was on a trip from Croatia to home. I think it was in Poland.
something like this:
And it was really big too, like, 20+cm in diameter I would guess.
Currently in my Computer Systems Security I 180 class. I think this is about the 5th time I've learned binary, and I actually knew all the powers of two before the first time thanks to making maps in hammer and its grid labels, which zoomed through the powers of two up to 32768
Anyone here who is living in Kansas City and has $1k spare money? I have something for you.

is that just the cabinet?
I have a windows 7 sticker on the back of my iPod touch that covers the apple logo.
It's been there for nearly 2 years now. It's starting to look a bit rough now sadly.
Oh, it's just $1k door for a cabinet.
