Those two are very different computers, it really depends on what you need. The Zenbook seems reliable enough, but I think thinkpads are the ultimate long-lasting choice. Plus, the battery life is most likely better in a thinkpad.

I have to force myself to use OS X on my Retina MBP when im not plugged into the wall because apparently Apple used some shitty proprietary technology to switch between the dedicated GPU and integrated GPU. GPU switching is only supported on OS X, and I'm stuck with the power hungry nvidia GPU 24/7 when I'm in Windows.
