christ, how much is employee discount at micro center? I heard how cheap your nerf guns are
I don't really use the search bar that much, the only time is when I need an admin cmd (Winkey, cmd, shift-enter).
Calculator? Win+R, calc, enter.
Or just Win, calc, enter.
and requires extra input to get it to search files or settings
Win+W search settings
Win+F search files
still extra input but compared to what you were probably doing before it's less input
christ, how much is employee discount at micro center? I heard how cheap your nerf guns are
Generally 5% above stock cost
Or just Win, calc, enter.
I use calc so often, and since the run tool remembers what you wrote the last time you used it, it's usually just Win+R, enter for me. Way faster.
Also the search bar seems to lag for half a second when I type something in, and I'm used to my method.

Well it sounds dandy but basically anything hardware based (Any main componet inside a computer) there is no discount. The main reason is we are competeting directly with newegg. If you look at our website we literally either price match them or beat them and we are brick and mortar. How we make up for this is through various methods, hell even our processors we don't make profit on. We make it up else were.
When i see a video card for 500 bucks then the EP on it makes it 490 it's like o wow lol. It's like that. Building a computer as an employee does save money big time (Building a good rig can save 100-300 dollars depending on how much you put into it plus rebates). The most discount is on various other bits of hardware like keyboards, mouses, speakers or anything else. Monitors, processors, video cards, motherboards we don't get a big discount if at all.
I posted a while ago of my receipt when i bought some stuff, 100 dollar keyboard for 70 bucks and 50 dollar mouse i think for like 30. Got a 150 dollar headset for 90 bucks (Corsair vegence 2000 wireless) Windows copies i only get 30-40 bucks off and office i only get about 20 bucks off. Adobe products the same. But anything else software wise is dirt cheap. I also get 50 buck hdmi cables for like 5 or 6 bucks. Any cable 20 bucks or less i literally get or 2-3 bucks

What does the program do, what does that hotkey do, and what do you expect to happen?
Guys, I'm looking for graphics cards and I realized I have no idea what I'm doing.
Which is the best value out of these?

Great. Android hates exFAT. I format my MicroSD card with exFAT, move all the old crap onto it, put it into my phone and bam it refuses to work, so go back to PC and hey hey it's no unreadable. Format in exFAT again, do same, same thing. Still unreadable. Lovely.

the only microcenters in new york are in yonkers and long island :saddowns:
Reinstalled Windows on the new laptop to get rid of all the OEM crap.
Installed the TouchPad drivers, and the scroll was suddenly really slow.
So I went into the mouse settings and found out I had a feature called ChiralMotion enabled.
I watched their tutorial video, and holy fuck, this is the best feature I have ever seen.
Basically, you first move your finger to the side like usually to start scrolling, but then you start drawing a circle on the touchpad, clockwise scrolls down and counter-clockwise up.
It might sound a bit weird, but I've been using it for a couple of minutes now, and the team who created this seriously should be millionaires, completely covered in bitches.

Lenovo are billionaires. So...
Why does my hardware life have to be so boring ?
I wish I won the lottery so I could join the non-last-decade computer club

Pretty sure it's been developed by a team at Synaptics.
Hell, pretty much every laptop nowadays uses a touchpad from Synaptics, but the feature set obviously varies, and the drivers for my laptop obviously aren't standard because it has options for the TrackPoint (nipple mouse).

Well, even then their revenue is in the 100's of millions, so...
That's why my battery was draining so fast
Tip: the facebook app takes 37% of your CPU at least.
Within 2 hours, it was almost dead
whoah i got invited into the planetside 2 beta

I got to try a trackpoint from my cousin's work notebook and quite liked it, or at least liked it way more than a touchpad.

And now I've set Tasker to kill the Facebook app when I switch to another app (like my launcher).
I fucking love Tasker.

It's positioned perfectly so you can still easily press the mouse buttons while using it, and the scroll-button so you can scroll with the TrackPoint is a cool idea.
Holy Dick, $6.49 for tasker?
Every single app in win 8 is touch oriented
You have to use touch gestures for everything
The game section sells xbox games instead of pc games
The start button is removed so the desktop is now useless
I am so sad now, I was looking forward to Windows 8. Why, microsoft?
- The store selection of games is mostly catered to Windows RT users; they're generally touch oriented but work with keyboard and mouse as well.
- I haven't had to use touch gestures for anything (would be pretty hard to pull off with a mouse as well), but if anything integration with multi-touch will be a fucking godsend when the hopefully better touchpads comes out, and with touch screens it's a given. I don't see how this is a bad thing.
- It uses XBOX live, but I don't really care what the service is called: Would you rather have GFWL? 'Cause that's not made for "XBOX games" as you put it.
- How is the desktop useless because there's no start button? Click in the exact same spot and it'll take you to the start menu.
