Is there anyone here with experience with the RPi? I think mine is a bit borked, as nothing from the USB works (inc the ethernet). Apparently this is due to a crystal chip being not soldered on properly but I'm too sacred to try and solder it myself bcause if it isn't it i'll probably break the whole thing :(
is XFX an okay power supply?
Also XFX is made from seasonic So you have XFX warranty and seasonic who made it, they use high quality Japanese parts. Which certification does it have? silver gold?
Well, got a new psu, its 600W and its xfx and its temps are pretty good
80+ Silver cert
Silver is alright , and the parts are from seasonic so its very good. You should never save on the psu, and if you have more money for gold or even platinum you get an even better lasting psu. I have an Corair AX850W Gold and it can put out about over 1000Watts you got more head room up. Also the Ax850 is also made with parts from seasonic.
Buying a new mouse. Was thinking of going with the logitech g400 or g500. As I have the mx518 and I love it. Only thing I don't like is I wish it had a better scroll wheel. I forget what its called but I like the scroll wheels that don't click.
Comcast is now bottlenecking our internet speeds to 109Mbps
I get 12 Mb/s from Charter. [editline].[/editline] Most people in my area only get 5-10 Mb/s. For some reason none of the better internet providers want to come up here.
To all those saying that there's no boost from using an APU with discrete graphics, you're pretty much flat-out wrong. AMD's had something called Hybrid Crossfire (now branded as "dual graphics") for a while now that uses both the IGP and the discrete GPU. Does anyone remember an article about inside valve? The offices and everything. It was a huge article on some site with lots of pictures and information about all the different areas and such. I want to read it again, but google hasn't helped. anyone know?
You'll all die laughing at this. Apparently, according to Best Buy (shudders), people thought Samsung tablets were iPads. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1201219
Does this look good? I wrote it in a hurry so I will probably have to rewrite some parts later http://swappa.com/listing/CEU220/view

It looks like my router takes about 20-30MBit/s of speed from my Internet connection. It's all connected via cable, everything supports gigabit LAN/WAN and should be fast enough: cable modem -> WAN Port NetGear WNR3500L (N300) -> LAN Port my PC When I connect my PC directly to my modem I get my stable 120MBit/s but when I connect my PC to my router I only get 100-90MBit/s which drops to 70 or less on speedtests. I use DD-WRT on my NetGear WNR3500L (N300). Any ideas? Fixed my problem. I switched to Tomato USB, better Firmware with all the functions I need.
Windows is retarded, to make other languages characters show up instead of just rectangles you have to change your system Locale to the language you want to be able to read.

I have my K90 video uploaded. Will be published in about 5 hours. You get to see my face for about 5 minutes talking about bullshit.
I'm playing MGS and talking to Kiwi about it. It's truly a great game, shame I can't quite find the correct epsxe settings for it so it's always missing some feature or special effect or something.
[IMG_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/s/q4qeaczdpmaw412/love.png?dl=1[/IMG_thumb] I'm gonna go start downloading this.
you'll play it for 5 minutes get confused and uninstall it

And efficiency isn't necessarily the right parameter for quality.

So 420€ on my bank account. CPU - ~215€ (i5 3570k) Mobo - ~120€ RAM - 4GB ~ 25€ I have a 500W IED and a HD4650. Should I put the overall towards the PSU or GPU? Thinking PSU now and GPU later, seems safer that way.

While it's nice having a really good CPU, you're gonna gain a lot more from having a capable card. I'm assuming that you won't be doing any professional movie editing or anything like that.

For your price range there is for example the Fractal Design Newton R2 800W ATX 2.2 which you can get one of those for under 80€ and its a pretty good powesupply , very silent and good power delivery.
I finally got the backlight for the thinkpad and managed to fit it after plenty of swearing and cuts. Now the inverter is making a buzzing noise which at first was tolerable until i tapped the bezel area where the inverter is, now it's annoying me. Oh, and there is something between the backlight and the LCD making a black mark on the screen. :suicide:
I finally got xscreensaver fixed, now I can properly dump my memory on the screen. (because that's so secure)
What the shit is this
What the shit is this
It's an Apple ad.
What the shit is this
I think you answered your own question. I found the one with the wife in labour somewhat amusing, but overall they're pretty bad. [editline]28th July 2012[/editline] I just noticed that since the Apple subforum was removed, all its threads are pretty dead.
What the shit is this
I don't get what this ad is trying to say "Don't buy our shit second hand"? "Don't buy shit from generic computer stores"? "Wearing an apple shirt and an iphone on a lanyard doesn't make you look like a tool"?
