Apparently, GMF is a colossal shitfest.
Pepper;36773291']Apparently, GMF is a colossal shitfest.
It's almost as bad as Itanium.
It's almost as bad as Itanium.
Except Itanium is useful for something [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] which i don't know what
You're acting like it's a big deal that minecraft should look beautiful 24/7
Pretty much the only reason MC looks bad is due to texture aliasing, FXAA doesn't do that. therefore FXAA for MC is pointless with no mipmapping. Optifine can do it, but it doesn't do a good job.
Except Itanium is useful for something [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] which i don't know what
HPC workloads and Network based stuff.
With all these small ARM-based computers popping out, I'm starting to really get annoyed by their lack of multiple NICs. The 130USD board with a quad-core Samsung Exynos that runs each core at like 1.4GHz? Imagine that with a couple of good gigabit NICs, would be great small business router+firewall all in one with some lightweight Linux distro installed. Then again, you could just go pick up some old P3 or P4 rig from under some desk and use that, but you'd be paying that 130USD a month in electricity bills.
Actually, P3 rigs don't suck alot of power.
Pepper;36774172']Actually, P3 rigs don't suck alot of power.
Not even close to 130USD a month, but I was exaggerating it. A low-power ARM board is going to kick a P3 in the face when it comes to power consumption any day of the week, as far as I know.
Yeah, P3s are pretty low-power. In the 20-40W power range, mostly centered around 30W. Now, that's still a lot higher than a small ARM board would use, but it wouldn't cost $130 a month (I don't pay that much for my whole electric bill, and that's including a 1000W dual-socket workstation.
I don't even want to know how much power I'm consuming. Good thing it's included in the rent, with a static price.
I don't even want to know how much power I'm consuming. Good thing it's included in the rent, with a static price.
Build a Einstein-Farnsworth fusor and see if that changes anything. Alternatively, buy some industrial high power cable (the 5cm thick stuff, pure copper) and a big transformer core and wind yourself a current transformer. Just keep increasing the current until the fuse blows, or bridge the fuse with a cable and see how much current can the meter endure before melting into a puddle of molten metal.
It would be like that massive transformer photonicinduction built. He nearly took out the whole neighbourhoods electricity supply with it.
I don't even want to know how much power I'm consuming. Good thing it's included in the rent, with a static price.
our rent went up because we wound up costing the landlord double in electricity bills
