Can you even Tri-SLI the 9800GT?
Also, I just realized I still haven't changed my title.
ideas pls
The only ones I know of (literally just googled it) that can do that were made by Asus.

why are you making a big deal out of your title
did you two have a bad breakup or something

I'm not clever enough to make a good title and no.
It's just not relevant (it was "kinda" an inside joke with some people I no longer talk to) and old.
Maybe I'll just make it "lavacano is a butt".
i've been called worse

IE on Linux.
Whoops, there it goes. Yep. My brain stopped.
I finally recorded the first part of the Dxtory guide.
It's 80 minutes long.
So it's going to become the whole series as I cut it up.
I was having problems with my 360 controller.
I checked the battery status, it said medium so that probably can't be it.
I fucking pulled the little prongs that connect to the battery to get them a bit more out, hell, I even tried just sticking the batteries in the sockets with no cover and then connecting the poles with a fucking 2€ coin (and it worked, and I played DiRT3 with it until one of the batteries couldn't stay still any longer).
Shut down the game after trying everything, accidentally press guide button. Battery low.
Fuck you, Microsoft. I guess I'm partly to blame because I didn't remember that the low battery warning is the same animation as the "the connection is fucking shitty and I'm trying to find something to connect to", but still.
Never heard of that animation
Wait.... when the lights flash in a spinning circle on the controller that means low battery??
Mine always spins so I dunno
Wait.... when the lights flash in a spinning circle on the controller that means low battery??
No, the opposite corners flash, and then they switch to the other corners and repeat that cycle.
The spin is looking for a device to pair with, but the low battery animation also happens when it's already paired with a device and it's having trouble connecting with it (I saw that animation so many fucking times when I tried to get the wireless receiver to work with my old laptop).
this is why I never use wireless peripherals
I, for some reason, hate wireless mouses/keyboards/controllers for no apparent reason. I just hate them.

That's what I meant, I didn't really know how to describe it
I wish I knew that after all this time so I could get my cable instead of waiting for the controller to die mid-game
Thank you
What's a good, free, SMART monitoring tool? My hard drive is pretty old and I fear that it might die any minute now.
I suggest you backup if your HDD is indeed dying. Better safe that sorry.
I haven't had any major problems with my wireless keyboard yet.
But the mouse on the other hand. I have had soo many fucking problems with it.
main one being not having any batteries in it because I like never use it anyways.

It's not dying. It's just that it's old and I really want to monitor the life time of the drive.
Right now I have like 3 years of usage (powered on). How much does a drive last usually?

Depends on the drive.
It's a Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB disk. HD753LJ is the model.

You can never say how long they'll last, sometimes a month, sometimes 10 years, Samsung's are pretty decent but it doesn't mean it won't stop working next week, if you have data that you need backed up, do it before it's too late.

Mine does that even when it's fully charged and I sit half a meter from my xbox.
[editline]12th August 2012[/editline]
It does the opposite corners thing for a while, then the circle thing a couple times and then back to corners.
Heya people, I'm back, what have I missed?

Same here for everything but the PS3 Dualshock 3 Sixaxis whatever controller
that thing is seriously a joy to use

Defraggler can read SMART data.

It actually works really well after you remember to switch the batteries once in a while.
I still wish I had one of those USB charging things for it, but it isn't worth it because I very rarely use a controller.
DiRT3 is basically the only game that I will play and use the controller. I know Super Meat Boy is way better with a controller, but I don't like platformers that just murder you over and over again.
Anyone know any good PC games that work really well with a controller? I could really use a good racing game, doing rallycross in DiRT is OK, but it gets boring. I want Gran Turismo on PC.
