That is power being pulled from the wall socket on 120VAC. Due to the efficiency of a PSU, I would estimate the overall DC power being pulled in the system to probably be around 1300-1400 watts, so you would definitely need more than a 1200w PSU.
Sorry, but, 1500w is definitely not an overkill for a setup like this.
