I could have built something so much nicer with a fraction of the money.
So could a monkey.
Which GPU and CPU should I run for?
One that the PSU you bought can handle. Either way you should return that. What are you trying to get out of this gaming build? [editline]May 13rd 2013[/editline] Also you didn't list a budget for us to help with for that.
And the cyborg V7
Remember kids, more lights means its goes faster!
Remember kids, more lights means its goes faster!
that looks like i am gonna get burns when i touch it. Ask before you buy something ffs...
that looks like i am gonna get burns when i touch it. Ask before you buy something ffs...
I think given his repeat performance in this thread, nothing's gonna change.
Oh jesus my eyes [editline]11th May 2013[/editline] is that 9 fucking fans on the side, somebody should replace them all with Deltas :v:
I had a friend with this case at quakecon. He got the computer because his company wanted him to promote their PC Gaming repair services or whatever. It was hilarious cause he kept the side panel door swung open so that it would cool him instead.

The psu, yes you guys are right, even if it's put in a offensive way, you are still right, in the Netherlands we have 14 days to return stuff we purchased on the internets, so I'll be returning it. Which PSU should I purchase instead of this? Please choose from here (It's dutch but specifications speak for itself) https://www.alternate.nl/html/highlights/page.html?hgid=658&tgid=972&tk=7&lk=3880 The old one was € 46,99, and I would wish to keep the case.
http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Corsair/CMPSU-500CX/1033759/?tk=7&lk=3882 [editline]14th May 2013[/editline] And fair enough if the keyboard and headset were gifted I guess.
About budget, tbh my budget is low, the headset and keyboard were gifted (Why wouldn't I accept them?)
How much is your overall total budget though and what kind of games do you intend to play?
Honestly you can sell those gifted peripherals pretty easy and invest in a quality mechanical keyboard instead. For a headset just get a nice pair of headphones like sennhiesers, ath, or bereyodynamic (forget how to spell them) with a modmic or zalman mic. I would change your case if can.... Tho I feel you like that style so it's ok, just isn't as functional and looks overly flashy. Otherwise on internals the standard i5 3570k, whatever gpu, 8 gigs of ram, 1tb hdd or smaller SSD will do.
http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Corsair/CMPSU-500CX/1033759/?tk=7&lk=3882 [editline]14th May 2013[/editline] And fair enough if the keyboard and headset were gifted I guess.
Why would I downgrade from a 550 to a 500?
Why would I downgrade from a 550 to a 500?
It's not about wattage, it's about quality.
It's not about wattage, it's about quality.
Wasn't it Diablotek who made that 1200W PSU that broke down after 450 or something? (And had horrible as fuck voltages)
Why would I downgrade from a 550 to a 500?
The Corsair will actually do 500 watts The Aerocool will get to 350 and burst into flames :v:
The Corsair will actually do 500 watts The Aerocool will get to 350 and burst into flames :v:
How so?
How so?

Wasn't it Diablotek who made that 1200W PSU that broke down after 450 or something? (And had horrible as fuck voltages)
Different brand, same concept.
How so?
The quality of the build and internal components is very different.
I'd love to see the ripple on the Aerocool PSU too.
So OP do you have actual pictures of the computer?
I think this would've been interesting if we were seeing something unique like a custom case mod or cooling setup. There's a reason I didn't create a thread for my new build; even with it being a beast of a computer it still doesn't warrant a thread because I didn't do anything quite that extraordinary.
And the cyborg V7
The cyborg aint so bad (have one myself but bought mine like 4-5 years ago) but if you gonna pay that price you can get something better.
Remember kids, more lights means its goes faster!
I hate myself when people say so and I know I have that keyboard :v: Would buy a new if it was not working. No point of buying a new if it still works. But like I said, it's not so bad but not sure about the looks after the years.
I seriously thought this was a troll thread. Now I kinda wish it was.
I was thinking about the i5 3570k, not sure on the gpu yet and ofcourse 8 gigs, 8 gigs is more then I need. 1TB mixed with 256GB SSD was also my plan, I already have the SSD.
My advice now for the GPU would be to wait. Nvidia should be releasing their new GPU series at the end of this month so prices may fall on their current products. The AMD HD 7850 is currently a very good GPU for its value. http://www.dixons.nl/computers/componenten/videokaarten/15365589/sapphire-radeon-hd7850-1gb.html?channel_code=57&product_code=51426204&utm_source=hwinfo&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hwinfoclick#.UZKAmqKG21c If you plan to only use that single GPU then here's a 550w PSU: http://afuture.nl/productview.php?productID=217257 If you plan to add another one for crossfire in the future then here's a 650w PSU: http://afuture.nl/productview.php?productID=123033 Again I advise you should wait until Nvidia release their new products. Also here's 8GB of RAM: http://www.dixons.nl/computers/componenten/geheugen/computer-geheugen/6203391/corsair-vengeance-ddr3-1600-8gb-kit.html A 1TB HDD: http://www.dixons.nl/computers/dataopslag/interne-harde-schijf/15295936/seagate-barracuda-1tb-3-5inch.html A Core i5 3570k: http://www.dixons.nl/computers/componenten/processoren/15347124/intel-core-i5-3570k-s1155.html I'd personally advise against using the stock cooler that comes with the CPU and instead get an aftermarket one. So in the low end of the CPU cooler is the Hyper 212 and on the high end is the NH-D14: http://www.dixons.nl/computers/componenten/koelers/15287723/cooler-master-hyper-212-evo.html http://afuture.nl/productview.php?productID=14887 I'm having a hard time trying to find the cheapest store that has everything but the one you're shopping from is very overpriced. Sorry if I turned the thread into a PC building one but I hope this helps. [editline]May 14th 2013[/editline] I just completely remembered. Intels new processor (Haswell) will be coming out early next month. There won't be any significant integral performance difference besides the built in GPU. If you want you should wait until it gets released. This CPU also requires a different motherboard from the one you purchased.
I'd never heard of aerocool so I had a quick look on their website and... bleurghhhhh Oh, and check out their [del]ziptie[/del] patented "VGA card Stabiliser"
Worst thread of the year so far. Also, I have the Cyborg V7 but I'm gonna be replacing it with a mechanical soon. It's a nice keyboard, bit on the gimmicky side and the ports on the back for headphone/mic are dodgey but it's a decent keyboard, I got mine for pretty cheap though.
So OP do you have actual pictures of the computer?
Yeah sure, I'll upload them.
Build
Good build, Just dont use dixons please. they arrent really all that good. Alternate.nl, http://www.salland.eu/ or mycom.nl
Wasn't it Diablotek who made that 1200W PSU that broke down after 450 or something? (And had horrible as fuck voltages)
I remember a Thortech unit that did that. Also it had more ripple than a tsunami.
bleurghhhhh
does it have a button to turn on those jet engines how far does it fly
