Razer Switchblade™ Gaming laptop | Holy shit the keyboard

Why did they have to make a shiny mirror-like screen, it attracts dirt and fingerprints like a magnet.
Also, i just noticed the webcam (and possible microphone next to it) on the 2 pics i posted before
It looks okay, but in the end it's not going to work. I know it's getting PHAT GEAR in it, but hell. Concept is unreachable. It will work only for those popular games.
another shit product by razer
I'd rather see a gaming netbook that just had more powerful hardware, not useless gimmicks like that keyboard
I mean seriously I don't even look at the keyboard when I'm playing, so why have such an extravagant and expensive system like that implemented.
the keyboard is cool but I guess I just don't see myself using it. I saw this this morning and at first I thought it was pretty cool but the whole atom processor thing is kinda lol especially because you know this will be $1000+ easily. I'll stick with that asus transformer thing :o

I think the idea is that it allows the keyboard to be small but versatile. it's also a typical razer "HEY LOOK AT ME" product, adding "cool" features to market it.

come to think of it, mobile gaming pcs just don't make sense to me in general. playing on a small screen and weird setup like that would throw me off...I know that even using a different mouse for a week and then going back to my desktop throws me off in games and if you're so addicted to playing that you're doing it on the go wouldn't that be a pretty big deal to you?
to each his own i guess
Well mobile gaming devices generally aren't intended for the FPS genre. The games that work the best are probably mostly RTS and Emulated games.
The point of the keyboard is to not have a full QWERTY keyboard to have it more like a portable gaming console.
I have always liked Razer's design but this is a little to flashy for me
I need this in my life.
I don't need one, but it would be incredibly cool to have
also does anyone know full, complete specs?
[editline]wef[/editline]
nevermind it's still in concept stage
Buy the laptop, disassemble the keyboard, throw the laptop away, use keyboard as primary keyboard
that's what I would do

That's the point of the entire product- portable console.
Looks interesting
I remember there was a full keyboard like this before
too bad it cost like $1600USD
forgot what it was called though

found it

it has an OLED screen in every single key
"Gaming Laptop" - Great, specs?
"Intel® Atom™ processor" - :frog:

Hopefully it's one of the dual core Atoms with Ion
Isn't this exactly the same as the Panasonic Jungle?
And holy shit, that dude's accent is so difficult to describe. It's like an Asian and European mix, with hints of American.
that's would be the accent of someone who's pretty rich from hong kong

well technically, the Switchblade can play any game that's on PC, provided that it can run it, whereas the Jungle, as far as I know, focuses on a few MMOs.
Cheesiest... advert... ever.
Considering my netbook could run WoW on lowest and it had Intel GMA950 and Intel Atom N220 (I think) at like 15fps in some places, and the specs of this thing haven't been locked yet (it's still in concept phase), I can see this actually happening.
Only thing I'm worried about is that the keyboard is going to cost shitloads.
But if I could run normal applications on top of games, I could see myself going to school with this, type notes in class and then break out WoW and do a heroic in the lunch break.

So you would use it like a better iPad?
[editline]6th January 2011[/editline]
Because as we all know, people installed WoW on their iPads.
Can I please just buy the keyboard??? Please!!!!
Can I please just buy the keyboard??? Please!!!!
Yes, as others have pointed out, it already exists. It's called the Optimus Maximus and it is quite expensive.
If they got rid of the keyboard and made it so it had QWERTY on the 2/3s that's there, and have like, LCD hotkeys on the top, it would bring the price down a lot, and I wouldn't have a problem with that.
I like the concept, but I don't think they will be able to pull this off at a reasonable price. There's just too much in too small a package. But if they can magically make it cheap, this could be pretty sweet.
Also, Intel Atom lolwut? Is it just me or is this the perfect application for AMD's Fusion system?

Theres no way in hell that razor would (could) ever try to charge $2000+ for a computer with those specs. I know they make overpriced products, but they'd have no success in the market.
"Very small, if its to small you can connect it to your HDTV "
wait what? so, i can't connect my desktop to my HDTV and audio system? even though i have for years?
okay :(
It looks good but i doubt you will be able to play fps's with out a mouse
then plug in a mouse?
[editline]6th January 2011[/editline]
i hate playing FPS' with a touch pad anyway so with my laptop i still have to use a mouse as it is

Did you even look at this thing? Like, you know, the keyboard?
I'll probably buy this. I want to play PC games on my mobile device, and this would allow it!

Engadget reviewed the concept. They liked it.
