Like a 4870 X2?
Yeah, or a GTX295, I'll research it, and think about whether i consider some fps worh $80, lol
Want to know? It's totally not worth. You won't notice much difference between let's say 30 and 35 FPS. Spend the 80$ in something else.
Oh, and 60 FPS is considered smooth. The difference between 60 and 80 FPS is not the same as the difference between 20 and 40.
Oh, and 60 FPS is considered smooth. The difference between 60 and 80 FPS is not the same as the difference between 20 and 40.
Yeah, I know 60 fps is smooth.
The fact that it's a bit faster also shows that you will most likely be able to squeeze a bit more performance out of it before having to upgrade. Also, dual GPU's have some advantages, like 32x AA. :v:
What clock speed is your Q6600 at?
Right now I've backed it off to 3.4GHz so it's 100% stable, but I had it at 3.6GHz, which was almost completely stable. It just crashed after being under load for a few hours.
Wow... Someone pointed out that the GTX295 is more powerful than the 4870x2 (which it is) and a huge shitstorm starts, are people really THAT fanboyish now?
Jesus, thank you...
Q6600 doesn't go to 3.6 easily without some intense cooling. What kind of fucked up temps do you idle at?
Dual GPUs, like the 4870 x2?
Yes, I was comparing dual GPUs to other options he was considering. But nice try. Never above 50C even under load.
Water cooling then? Or just really expensive air cooling? Also what the fuck 34% Ram. What do you have, like 3 gigs?
The 3DMark results say 4096MB, so I'm gonna guess 4 gigs. :downs:
The 3DMark results say 4096MB, so I'm gonna guess 4 gigs. :downs:
That's a good guess. Now how much of that is his OS able to use??

Now I see why xxFoxxx is hating on the 4870 X2. http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=13789269&postcount=2086 He got banned a few months ago for calling somebody's 4870 X2 a piece of shit in comparison to his GTX 295.

He was ripping on someone's graphics card just because it wasn't as good as his. So I showed him how it felt. You're really clawing for somethin' now, aren'tcha?
No, I was just looking through your ban history and wondered what you were banned for being a fanboy of. Oh, and showing him how it felt? You're that desperate to make yourself feel powerful? You feel that held down that you need to show others how held down you feel? Damn, furries and their persecution complexes...
Hmm, I've researched the HD4870X2 and I can say it satisfies me pretty well, now I think I'm gonna get it, at our retail shop there are 3 different HD4870X2: Sapphire, ASUS, and Gainward, the Sapphire being about $615, ASUS being $600, and Gainward being $512, Gainward says Rampage 700 GS, is this a pro or con? So, which should i get? Are there any cons with, say, Sapphire over Gainward?

A 9600 or a 9800, if I remember correctly. Which is a dick thing to do... So, to show him how it feels when people are a dick to you... I made that post, which LazyV took the wrong way... resulting in me being banned. It doesn't work as well when you have to explain it step by step... Just... Are you functionally retarded? The warranty might be different.
nvm this post
It contains two GPU dies, so it really isn't like a dual core CPU/GPU. Whether you've already got the dual PCB card or you're holding off for the single PCB...it has two separate GPUs. SLI is still there, but it takes place internally.
D'oh, thanks for the correction.
So you feel the need to step in and show other people what it feels like to be put down over the internet?
To make them stop, yes.
BECAUSE IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY THERE IS NO REASON TO BUY IT ALSO THE Q6600 WILL MAYBE PROBABLY BOTTLENECK IT caps
therefore, your logic is flawed, if a gtx 295 is bottlenecked by a q6600, then if what your saying is true, then a 4870x2 would also be bottlenecked. The Gtx 295 is for people who want a great constant framerate, not with dips in between. this is proved by this article, where in any game at 1900x 1200, it 's lowest framerate is 49 in crysis warhead.
If he brought up 3D mark score, which he did, he is an enthusiast which means it is useless to talk money with him
I consider myself an enthusiast, yet I don't throw money around like it means nothing...
If he brought up 3D mark score, which he did, he is an enthusiast which means it is useless to talk money with him
I brought up the 3DMark score because he was saying that the Q6600/GTX 295 combo would be bottlenecked. :\ Do you two know how to keep any thread on track rather than going after me personally?
I try to separate the bullshit from the practical

How? By having a different opinion than you? I have shit on you I could dig up if I wanted, but this isn't a thread about me or you. It's about this guy's computer. :downs:
Opinion is not always factual the better deal has been stated. If you turning this into a mudslinging contest, it only proves you're a moron
You're missing the point, and your horribly misconstrued argument doesn't really address anything I've said. I'm not turning this into a mudslinging contest. That's exactly what I'm attempting to prevent. It was you and him who began with the personal attacks first. IN MY OPINION if you have the money for a GTX 295, it is worth it. The performance is great. Go for it. IN YOUR OPINION the GTX 295's price does not justify its performance gain. The "better deal" is different in each of our opinions, and it is not me but you who is attempting to present your opinion as fact.
