So you'd rather spend thousands on a Macbook?
Mac Pro.
You may have better luck asking on the MacRumours forum or similar, I imagine they have more experience with macs than is apparent here http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1
more bias though

If OP wants to game, and he wants a mac aswell, I recommend he gets maybe an iMac, and a gaming rig. Afaik you can use the iMac's screen as, well, a screen, and he won't have to fuck around with hackintosh either. For a person with lods emone and reluctance of having a hassle with something, that's probably the best solution.
more bias though
and here isn't?
and here isn't?
I'd say facepunch are bias towards intelligence, plenty of people on facepunch have mac's.
And I'm sure that a majority of those people don't realize that they seriously overpaid.
and here isn't?
Hey, I don't see many people being overly biased in the H&S. Sure, in fast threads there's the occasional "mac is gay", but overall, there's not much. We're not telling not to get a Mac (atleast I'm not), just that he shouldn't buy it thinking that he's gonna game on it.
Get a bro to choose the parts and build for you. Buy him pizza or suck his junk as payment (no eye contact, that would be gay.)
My budget is 3000 Bucks. [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] Also, inb4 Fatal-Error
That would be my alt, technicaly I'm already here.
That would be my alt, technicaly I'm already here.
That explains so much.
That would be my alt, technicaly I'm already here.
It's good to know being on an alt account hasn't stopped your endless flow of absolute drivel from your keyboard
It's good to know being on an alt account hasn't stopped your endless flow of absolute drivel from your keyboard
And you don't even need to be on an alt! [sp]Nahh, you cool[/sp]
Deal with it. [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] If you must know why I'm on an Alt, I had to reset my password on this account back when the password reset function was fucked, so I just went and made a new account untill it was fixed.
Doesn't Macbooks 2011 have a better and more futureproof hardware (Sandy Bridge/Radeon 6000M Series) compared to the actual iMac?
Apple's website doesn't seem to be straight with whether it's SB or the original, but as far as I remember, it's SB. They've got 6***M GPUs, too.
I'm just going to get the mac, If wine and crossover fuck up, I'll just pop in my 40 GB spare drive.
I'm just going to get the mac, If wine and crossover fuck up, I'll just pop in my 40 GB spare drive.
Or just partition the 1tb?
That too. [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] Stupid me...... I forgot the HDD size... [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] Also, Post fuck up.
I'm just going to get the mac, If wine and crossover fuck up, I'll just pop in my 40 GB spare drive.
Or just buy a decent pre-built PC instead. [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] Or buy PC parts and find someone or a store, in your town, that can build your PC
It looks like he has made his decision.
I can't do that cause my town sucks.
I can't do that cause my town sucks.
Do you do much video/image editing or CAD?
Nah.

He didn't ask whether a Mac is better than a PC for gaming, he asked whether a mac can play games using a parallels/crossover-alike.. how can you bias that?
Why on earth would you run games in parallels? It's like an emulator; some games work, some run not very well and others fucksplode And installing windows on the mac defeats the purpose of owning a mac. Just build a desktop Make a thread saying what country you're in, your budget and what you are going to use it for Building it is like a really easy puzzle.
Pepper;30991150']defeats the purpose of owning a mac.
What purpose?
What purpose?
let's start a stupid flame war then
What purpose?
To buy an overpriced pile of hardware
The fact alone that it is £2000 for sub-par hardware is absolutely ridiculous.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. It's absurdly overpriced, but the hardware is nowhere near sub-par. Just because that stuff is a year old, it doesn't mean it isn't good. Also, is there anything wrong with boot camp? (genuine question) Is the functionality any worse that that of a 'native' Windows machine? A friend of mine used boot camp on his Mac and it seemed to play games just fine, but I didn't get to use it personally.
