from what i understand OP thinks it's too hard to make a computer so he wants a prebuilt mac because he likes the style. in that case it would be much cheaper to buy a decent $400 pre built computer and get a OSX theme on it with Windows. ... or he could do research on computer building and realize that it isn't that hard and 10 year olds can build computers with no problems

The title is annoying as hell, it isn't "is"...

I remember building my first PC. I was so afraid at firs that I would break a piece and end up having to buy the part again, but honestly, if you don't spasm every ten seconds you will be fine. Just watch some YouTube videos to get an idea for it, and after that we can whip up a parts list and have it shipped to you. In addition, you will be able to tell people that you are smart with your money and can build a computer. I say that I can build a computer with pride every time.

What is the point of getting a Mac for gaming? You gonna end up spending a lot more money on it and for what? Windows has the same features as a mac and they usually a lot cheaper than a Mac.

I'm not saying he does, I myself suggested he should just get a high spec iMac. But in the case of the Mac Pro it isn't a $1500 brand name charge. The equivalent components that you put together run to $1800 roughly as you showed. Apple's profit margins are well known to be 30%. 1800*1.3 = 2340. Given Apple's penchant for nice round numbers I'm guessing they simply rounded up the price to $2499 and pocketed the extra $150.

No offense, but a Phenom comes nowhere near a 5*** xeon, both in price and performance.
