Something weird is going on, I have that problem while playing gmod but I was playing Crysis without a hitch for at least a half hour.
-snip-
Alright its definatley still going on, can anybody help me out with this? My 8800GTS handled it fine :-(
Faster RAM is a good upgrade.
Faster RAM is a good upgrade.
I'm looking to get my GPU functioning properly, it acts dodgey with gmod.
I'm looking to get my GPU functioning properly, it acts dodgey with gmod.
Driver updates? Card dying?
My 5770 had issues like this aswell, after a while i even got a completely gray screen (Sometimes striped) and my computer would become unresponsive, this seems to be an issue with ATI's 57x and 58x series but not every card has it, i RMA'ed mine.
Could be overheating. Post your temps.
Could be overheating. Post your temps.
I don't see why it would overheat all the time in Gmod when my older card in the exact same setup never did it once. It also has graphical glitches just while web browsing and video watching.
Did you... Clear all drivers and update latest drivers? Can you... post a GPU-Z?
Any overheating is likely caused by the cooling on the GPU itself, and not by the entire setup. Post your temps. Also, graphical glitches while web browsing sounds like overheating.
Also, graphical glitches while web browsing sounds like overheating.
I used to have graphics problems on my 5770 at random times that was fixed by newer drivers.
Okay I'm now on a fresh Windows 7 install now and its a lot better but after maybe an hour of gmod it just did it again. Unfortunatley I didn't have a utility handly to check the temp but I still don't see how it could be too high in the exact position where my 8800GTS worked fine.
It's overheating you dumbass. RMA it.
Okay quick update, just curious if anyone has life-saving advice. After a somewhat disapointing experience with the support ticket system they want me to call, only problem is they wont be open to take the call until Monday or Tuesday, so now I'm using a 7600GT I got off a friend. Anyone else have a similar issue?
SATA's the standard but there's no speed gain over the latest IDE. It's just space-saving. His drives are fine as long as the speeds of them aren't bottlenecking him. EDIT: All of the people that rated me disagree don't know what the fuck they're talking about, fyi
Nobody on this fucking board knows what they're talking about And matey9, you are having a problem with the 5770 because XFX 5770s have been reported to have lots of problems in the past. When I pointed this out all the retards immediately threw a bitch fit and disagreed with me for no apparent reason. They didn't do a simple google search before going into a fanboy rage.
Are you 100% positive that you installed the latest drivers? The 5770's had grey screen problems before due to bad drivers. I've had my XFX 5770 for a good month now without any problems at all. I'd recommend you download Driver Sweeper (http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/) , go into safe mode, do a full clean out and download the latest drivers from here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
Nope it´s the new ATI 5 series that have problems with the source engine i´m sitting on a 5870 and one of my friends have an 5750 and we have the exact same problem sometimes the textures becomes black and you cant se shit.. but its only happening on the source engine i have a fresh windows 7 and newest drivers to so its not that. You could also try adjusting your fan speed in your catalyst driver to something higher and se if it does any good
Alright, this is where I'm at, no trace of any drivers(so I'm currently just running off the windows 7 included ones, afraid to de-purify them). The AMD/ATI website gives me this driver, but I want to ensure I go through as little frustration as possible. http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=win7/windows-7-64bit Here is other info that might be helpful regarding my system. The GPU I'm trying to get working http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447 There are no obvious issues inside the physical case, the card is happily in it's slot and it's only Pci-E power port is plugged into my 750 Corsair PSU.
Just download the package at the top and install.
Well fuck me, It still does it. I even reinstalled Gmod, ran it with default settings. This is getting really annoying, anyone had success in RMA?
Clock speed on that Q9550 is quite conservative, whack a custom cooler on it and speed that mofo up.
Are you sure that you installed CCC correctly? Make sure you have 10.2 (or 10.3beta) drivers installed.
