Good for Jersey!

EDIT: Thought I'd mention a few things...
For those who don't know, it's not New Jersey, it's Jersey of the Channel Islands :eng101:
With a population of just over 100,000 and a stable economy allowing a majority of the population broadband, faster than 80% of the island isn't bad. Doesn't make jersey look good though.
I think a little over 100 bucks for phone, and also very good for communication networks such as the internet ...!

Well, I can download a full game in about 10-20 minutes depending on it's size, and if I'm able to download at full speed. Uploading videos to YouTube... Let me put it like this, I can never fill in all of the details before it's done downloading. And I always upload in 1080p rendered in Sony Vegas Pro :)

Not really, I live in a new building, so when they build it, they just fit it with fiber optics. The internet itself is actually cheaper than a 30/5 broadband speed, which simply is because 30/5 is kind of pushing bronze cable to the limit, while 100/70-80 is easy for fiber optics.

That explains why my internet is a 1/3 of the speed slower than it should be, thanks.

I kind of download most of my big stuff at school on my laptop..
Time warner cable is shit, hopefully within the next 6 months we can get verizon fios over in my area. Oh how I would love 100 Mbps / 10 MBps download speeds and at least 10 Mbps upload. Or at least for my fucking packet loss to be fixed!
I can still game on this luckily and I've tried other tests that say I don't have packet loss but fuck TWC still sucks dick.

This is at least a few times better than what I had back in the rural United States. I used to think this was pretty good but, not so much after seeing your speed tests. :v:

It saddens me this is the absolute fastest i can get
At least i got faster than is possible on my connection
Also $75 for 8Mb/384Kb and a max of 120Gb downloads
I will move soon and get slower internet but I can still use my old ISP which I want because I love them.

I will get about 1/4 or 1/3 of this speed but I will work a fulltime job so I wont have so much time like before anyways.

Hmm, weird.. Looks like my router miiight be over-prioritizing today. my PC = 50mbit, but lower upload. My home server is showed in image above.

Gotta love southwestern US college wifi.
Current room speed at uni:

It should be going up to 20 Down with options to upgrade to 40 / 60, within the next 2 weeks
I've never seen an ISP where they give you more upload than download. Interesting.

If you mean me, then It's a provider that promises minimum the speed i purchase. In my case 40mbit. If I don't get the speed, I can just call them, and rage.
(Also in some cases, It's useful to have higher upload if you run a server. I assume you can get special plans for that.)

Hey, my speedtest pretty much produces the same results as yours, and you're from the UK, so...
Do you find that after a day of partially heavy downloading you'll end up getting throttled, yet it will still show 30mb if you do a speedtest?
That is what I'm finding out as of recent. Last night after I got back from being away I had to update a few things and in total maybe downloaded about 5gb~ and then noticed my downloads were stopping more often than the 9oclock bus.
I hope you say yes, then I won't feel like the only guy having this problem (which I won't anyway because there are loads of people bitching about virgin media throttling them on forums all over the net!).
I have not noticed being throttled, no as i have not downloaded alot but i think it would if i downloaded alot.
