At my father's. At my mother's we have Comcast, and it's like 2Mb/s DL, and a 1Mb/s UL. Both houses are thinking about switching to FIOS.
I can't even complete one with this sketchy of a Wifi card.

Pretty 'kay with DSL
I'm 20 minutes away from a city.

We should be getting at least 30Mbps down and respectable upload next year, though. So I can't complain.
Is your internal house wiring brand new? No hell way you should be pulling speedtests like that
No, it isn't at all. The exchange is also no where near my house
Then you really need get someone to re wire the house to at least 1 box. That would really pump up performance and really lower your ping at least.
I am 20 minutes away from the city, but I'm also in the middle of nowhere. It's a weird place where I live.
We did replace our ADSL filters, our router and the extension cable that goes from the ADSL socket at our front door to our living room. It didn't do much. We were actually thinking about upgrading our package soon.
(Thinking about it, I guess we have upgraded our internal wiring)

My bizarrely slow desktop connection. We pay for 30, no caps, and I get that on every other device in the house... Except for my desktop.
I blame the Airport Express I'm using as a network adapter. It's only got 10/100 ethernet. I'm wondering if getting a USB wireless adapter would speed that up at all.
I had checked my internet speed from this site ScanMySpeed.com
It helps to check internet speed accurately.
My Speed test results are
Download Speed: 18.89 Mbps
Upload Speed: 0.618 Mbps.

ISP just upgraded to 50/50 from 30/30

Who else remembers the days when a 1 GB download would take all night?

I'm getting speeds like these in a really old house with ancient wiring:

It's VDSL, but I think VDSL requires the exchange to be really close to you for it to be worth it.

Got mobile broadband now :v:
There is a 30 GB/month limit though but it's better than the 1.7 mbit internet I used to have
[editline]25th September 2013[/editline]
For some reason it's got my location all wrong though
Aw yes here we go.

This fucking download limit man. It sucks

I spend entirely way too much money.

I think I need a new router or something this shit is ridiculous
My god I feel so sorry for some of you guys. How do you cope?
I have the fastest commercial connection you can get in the UK and the upload is still pretty bad, although 120 down is pretty good.
Going by current conversion rates I spend around $60 a month for this connection, how does this wager with what you guys get?

Also, isn't it common for American ISP's to have bandwidth caps? :( *hugs* I don't think any ISP in the UK has had bandwidth caps for like... 20 years or something O_O
I hope enough people complain that it goes away, you guys have to put up with some serious crap.

Australia is far worse than America. We have some of the worst plans, worst speeds and worst international connections (worked it out to be about 17KB/s per internet user).
For $70 a month, you will get 24Mbit down and 1Mbit up with a 250GB download allowance, only if you live in an area in which you can get those speeds. Most places get around 2-3Mbit max with a piss poor download allowance for $50-$90 a month.
I know my friend pays $120/month for 4Mbit down, 0.5Mbit up with a download limit of 55GB.

Not bad, I hope i will get fiber soon though.

How is YouTube from 6 to 9pm? I have the 120mbit connection too, but it seems like VM have some serious issues with bandwidth between those times.

Weird how I only download @ 2 Mb/s.

Could be better I guess. Not very many ISPs around here.
