I don't understand what you are upset about your speed really isn't that bad. I have like 3mb/s download....
Speedtest uses Megabits. It's not the same as Megabyte. I don't know if you're aware, and you're saying this, but if you aren't: 15 mbps is like 1 megabyte/second.

I wish there was Google Fiber up near me. From what I'm aware, it really isn't that expensive compared to the plans up here, and with those speeds, that'd be awesome.

Yes.. I know this and as I said his speed isn't that bad. I get 3 megabits per second... so 15mb/s isn't that bad like I said. I never once said megabytes so I don't know if you are hunting to correct someone or where that came from? And it's actually closer to two megabytes not one..

I don't know why you'd assume I'm "hunting to correct someone". I was just wondering if you knew, because 15 megabits a second is pretty bad. There's really no reason to be so pissy in your post, you could've just explained that you were aware. Also, yes, I know it's closer to 2, I thought I had edited that, guess not.
Ok.

Actually, 8 bits is a byte, so it would be 1/8th the "advertised speed".
My internet is advertised at 1mbps, and I usually get around 100-120kb/s. If we divide 1024 by 8, we'll find that its actual speed is 128kb/s and that I am in fact getting my "advertised speed".
Its just a cheap marketing gimmick that everyone does.
Went from DSL

It sort of pisses me off a bit, because i'm fucking stuck with 10/1 without any chance of upgrading, because of some shitty copper cables that can't handle any more juice. And of course, they're not planning on upgrading anytime soon either!
Stop complaining about how your super fast internet can't get any faster...

I think that isn't his speed, he says he's stuck with 10/1

Home internet. Not bad, but I'm usually closer to 45 down, 10 up.

Phone. Sad thing is, it's usually faster than my home internet, and I pay less monthly for it. Oh, and yeah, no data cap for my phone, but I have one for my home connection.

This is a recent upgraded. Been stuck on 60mb/s and this speed will more than tie me over for a couple of years.
We lowered our plan from 20/2 to 2/1. It took my entire Saturday to download the Titanfall beta. Before I was downloading stuff at 2.5mb/s. I hope when Comcast starts converting existing TWC stuff we can get a good deal.

Other than being slow, it's actually stable and we haven't needed any support with it for a couple years. I'm going inquire about a supposed new "fibre to the node" network they installed a while ago. I wonder when it will be ready :suicide:.
Dam I hate Australia's internet...

When Labor was in, I'd be waiting to around 2017 to get the NBN where I live. Now that liberal are I doubt I'll be getting it at all.
