cox boosterd everyone's speed.
still not the 190/70 that they said we're supposed to have when we called with network trouble
pretty sure its like 60-70 a month around here.
but its all packaged with hd tv and dvr stuff and telephone
so total is prob 200 a month? idek

Pretty sure I pay for 50mbps so I am happy with this, it works for what I need.

[t]http://www.speedtest.net/result/3886337829.png[/t]
the fuck is going on here
Decided to reconfigure my home network to make it simpler (make internet signal go through less devices).
Before (3 routers "daisy-chained" to each other, speed test from the last router because internet connection could only be made from that one):

After (just 1 router):

:v:
The fiber line is actually capable of 1Gbps, it's not guaranteed though. About 5060 yen (about $44 at current jpy-usd rate) a month, in case anybody was wondering.
not bad for $70.

This is what you get for paying over 80$ on Brazil. :^)
[editline]14th November 2014[/editline]
(reminder that we only get less than 10% of that)
[editline]14th November 2014[/editline]
and it's unstable as fuck
how much do you actually pay though
Pretty good for a university wifi connection.
This is what happens when you lose a router.

What the hell? This thread died? Let's make it not so. Posting the actual speeds here because sipwicket rules dictate no images:

This is in reference to:
Boom, what I thought was previously double the DL speed is now TRIPLE the DL speed, and still on target for 5x the upload speed! :neat:
Previously it tested at 30 Mbit but real-world speeds were more like 8 Mbit down, and .5 Mbit up, which you can quite literally classify as "just a smidge better than dialup".

On the 1Gbps rollercoaster!
It can go even faster if it's less busy though, like this:

College is pretty nice.

Sad is there's no ISP yet that has plans to lay fiber in this part of the city because of failing petitions.
This part of the city mostly has elders who don't need it :c
