I fucking love this school connection.

Moved onto campus a few weeks ago.
Oh hey there [editline]27th September 2015[/editline] Content: We're paying for 50/50 which makes this pretty awesome. Real-world usage confirms that speed, too.
Real-world usage confirms that speed, too.
I have fios, issue is every day at around 8-10pm est the internet slows to a crawl. Seems like they throttle or the traffic in the area supersaturates the connection. Maybe its just their cache servers. Do you still have those real world speeds during those times?

Home speed, not school or business like most people with high speeds posts.
I was only able to achieve these speeds after replacing my shitty 2003 linksys router with a TP Link N600 :V
Home speed, not school or business like most people with high speeds posts.
how much do you pay for that holy shit
how much do you pay for that holy shit
$25 a month, 30 tv channels included for free. Unlimited bandwidth. However, I had to pay a $1500 installation fee to get the fiber into my house. The fiber could get upgraded to 10 Gbit/s later on when needed :P Note that the server is in another country and still 1 ms ping.
Paying 11 euros (12$) for this. Really happy with it, I could upgrade to 600 up/down (20 euros a month) but 100 is enough for me and I don't have so much disposable income to spend on internet
I didn't even think about doing this till just now, steam dl's at like 16 mb/s
Went from flaky as fuck 1.5Mbps ATT DSL and being the last phone line that could even get DSL to pretty goddamn stable 10/2 5.8Ghz wireless with clear line of sight to the tower.

Come on UK get your shit together. Even our prisons have faster internet than that.

[t]http://www.speedtest.net/result/4721445352.png[/t] Also it get worse. This is what happens when one company owns most of the phone lines in the country and apart from a couple of companies everyone just rents them from Telstra.

[editline]5th October 2015[/editline] I'm rate limited to 100/100 at work though. Maybe I should change that. [editline]5th October 2015[/editline] Also ping is because I had to choose a further away server because the ones in my city blow.
You missed my really bad joke.
Oh wow I'm retarded.

:snip:
cute It would probably be closer to 800 at night.
Decided to try out the USB 56K modem I got the other day. A true 90's experience.
That's when I tried a NZ server And that's when I tried a server in Gdańsk. [sp]I don't see much of a difference tbh[/sp]
This is VERY good for my area at the moment. All of my friends are still sitting on the average of 16~ down and 1~ up.
They advertised 75/75 to me and as a suprise I get more, also dunno why they gave me more upload than down though.
Talking about people who get better speeds then they pay for / were advertised I only pay for 40mb/s, thanks Comcast.

Old test, funny story. We were without internet for 4 weeks (thanks Verizon...) due to a constant 50% packet loss, 8 calls and 4 guys out to the house later, no one could fix it. I did everything they said and eventually got annoyed, called up and threatened to unsubscribe if we didn't get compensation or some discount, a few weeks later a FiOS Quantum router arrived at our doorstep.
Sitting on a train right now:
Usually better than this later at night or early in the morning.
