Yellowknife, eh? How's the weather? <3
Used to be with Telus, IDK what hapened......
I've never got it past 1mbit on the upload, and normally it can get up to about 12mbits on the download.
It never gets to 1Mb on that package (see 192.168.100.1 to see what it's capped it). Virgin's upstream speeds are a disgrace for what they call a "next generation" network:
10Mb Down = ~0.5Mb Up
20Mb Down = ~0.7Mb Up
50Mb Down = ~1.5Mb Up (~10/20Mb Up if you're in one of the trial areas, hopefully they'll get this out to all the other XXL customers eventually)
Midget010, another person with crap upload speeds on telewest/virgin.

There always going to be crap, they're capped at that. They're trialling 10Mb upload for people on 50Mb down though.

Depends my the school because my school built a brand new server room and got a fiber optic connection and I was like  then I found out it is a 10 meg connection. :v:
I got a router with closed ports, so Upload is slow for me.

Very weird for me since my max is like 1.1 - 1.3 MB/sec

...and that's being used by all the school computers. No wonder it's slow.

I'm not entirely sure but I don't think that should affect it.

250GB monthly transfer cap baby!. Go over the limit twice, and your terminated!.
Don't believe me?. http://www.macworld.com/article/142874/2009/09/comcast_cap.html
Hm... if only I had a ISP as good and reliable as comcast!. Wait, wait... waiiiitttt... I do..
Verizon FIOS, 25Mbps down + up, I can max my port at 50Mbps with both combined with no issues... never had a connection drop, ever. Had a IP that was basically static until I renewed the lease (6-8 months with the IP), no port blocking at all and no monthly transfer caps!.
Hell, it even includes Fiber to the home, and I had the option to connect directly to the ONT with ethernet bypassing COAX completely.
Comcrap is good and reliable you say?. If so, why did they have to re-brand themselves as xfinity?.
I distinctly recall years of pain with comcrap, mostly how their modems kept going bad on me, then there was the problem when someone used the phone it completely killed my upload and actually caused huge issues with my internet. Oh, and lets not forget the problems they had with COAX dropping the connection, which turned out to be on their end. (Comcast in my area converts Fiber from the telephone poll into COAX for the entire neighbourhood). And then there is the deal with comcrap blocking ports and traffic shaping.....
But, I'm sure there are happy customers with them.... in select areas where comcrap invested in their network.

They stopped throttling torrents and blocking ports a long time ago. I've never reached a 250GB cap, not once.

If you say so, I left comcast early last year so I guess they might have changed policy... doubtful though............ very doubtful.

I know they still have the 250GB cap, but I've only used 70GB at the most one month.

They also still block ports (probably). Test port 80 for example.
See, I would use around 1TB-3TB per month, so yeah :).
Anyway, not trying to start a flame war...
hi i use virign network for my internet . here my speed results
download=1.04Kbps
upload=0.77Kbps
i test my speed here http://www.ip-details.com/ .i felt satisfied with my results.
D: 24Mbps U: 1Mbps

Usually i get closer to 24Mbps

Hosting Minecraft, Garry's mod, Web and FTP with it.
I have you all!
Here in shitaly (Italy) connection are gross and I don't even have a adsl! I hate this place!!!
I'm using a 3g dongle (I think that I'm the only person in the world playing competitive tf2 with this kind of connection)
Daily good (even better then usual):

At night around 5 am (max speed I had in 4 years):

Usually it maxes at around 15 or 20 Mbps but on a quiet day it'll go up to ~30 Mbps, upload is always at 3Mbps unfortunately.
But I won't complain since I live in a semi rural area.
